Science Pre-Reqs

Nursing school will be A & P I x 10. You have to figure out how you can manage in the sciences. I am a total English/Arts nerd, so the sciences and Math do not come easy to me AT ALL. I took A & P I in a short summer session and it nearly killed me! I only passed with a C. But A & P II I got an A, because it was a regular session, I came to all classes (Missed some in A & P I), and I did every bit of extra credit I could. The sciences eventually began to click for me, and I guess it was good enough for the nursing committee at my school because I start my program in August. The nursing committee will see your W grades and wonder what is going on so I would try not to EVER do that again. Good luck, stay focused!

Do what you need to do. Don't worry about conforming to a specific schedule, because now is the time you need to focus on shoring up your weaknesses. It takes as long as it takes to be successful.

Talk to your instructors and see if your school has any tutors/learning labs, or online resources. See if your instructors have any specific recommendations that they could make for you, having seen your performance. Make friends with people in class and teach the material to each other. Most importantly, find time to dedicate to these classes and stick with it. Ask your instructors if you can record lectures if you feel like you're not getting stuff the first time.

These are all just suggestions, of course, but be sure to explore all of your options and be flexible.

I plan not to withdraw anymore and just take the class when I know i can dedicate my time to that class only. Hopefully next time around will be better!

When you reapply for A&P 1 see if they is a study guide for the book...I was having difficulty in A&P 1 and then got a study guide with the textbook it helped me so much....good luck and study, study, study and you will get it...Also flash cards-rewriting the difficult to understand material...good luck

I like Quizlet. I use it to make my flashcards and study later on. The best part is that you can study other people's cards too. I swear by it.
