A little update on my previous conundrum between choosing to stay at Wayne State University or transfer to Schoolcraft: I've decided to go ahead with my transfer. I talked to academic counseling at Schoolcraft and they let me know that the waitlist is in fact currently about 4-5 years but that I'll probably be in the program in 2-3 years, which is on par with the rest of the schools in driving distance.
I really like the way that Schoolcraft treated the admissions and enrollment process better than Wayne State, as well. The counselor I talked to did some creative transferring of the classes I took at WSU and now all I have to take is A&P and the TEAS before I can apply to the nursing program. I'm feeling good about the choice I made. :)
