I had a question for you guys
Did you ever wish that you kept your high school textbooks while you were studying for nursing in college/university or already working, for reference?
Or do these books and information in them become obsolete and after you are done studying you don't need them anymore?

Back when I was in school, the printing press had yet to be invented......
All kidding aside, we weren't permitted to keep our textbooks.....they needed 'em for the next generation of students, and I do mean "generation"---some of them had been around since my sister (12 years older!) was in high school.
But did you ever wish that you could keep them?
Thanks MJ

I'm glad that I kept my undergrad books because although I didn't need them in grad school, I need them in my current position.
Moreover, I wish I had kept some of my undergrad NOTES because they explained some concepts better than some of my current books do.
Hope that helped.

I have kept every last one of them... I find them invaluable as a reference source when I come across procedures, Rx's, Tx's, and illnesses I'm not familiar with or haven't had much exposure to. Same with all my notes !
As far as regular school books... ha ! Yes, I do wish I had kept some of those, just to look back and see how times and topics have CHANGED !!! (some 30-40 yrs. later)

My high school textbooks belonged to me since we had to buy them ourselves just like the books for our Nursing program
It was so long ago I can't remember what in the world I did with my high school textbooks - but I plan on keeping every one of the textbooks I am using now - I plan on starting prereqs for an RN program as soon as I graduate and thinking that maybe they will come in handy for that
Also I will be able to look back at them to answer quesions for myself once I am out there in the real world of nursing.

I have NEVER said to myself..."I "wish" I had XYZ book from high school. " I HAVE, however, used my (college) A&P text (Marieb!:))as a reference MANY, MANY times in nursing school.
Keep your A&P and possibly your pysch books....the rest you can probably sell back on EBay..

Ditto what Christinemj said!
I have never even thought about a high school text. That was many moons ago, and I am sure the info is not even relevant or correct anymore!
I did keep several nursing texts and do often refer to them. Last night my daughter had a science question, so I tried to turn to my A&P text. Couldn't find it! I think I might have loaned it out!
I got rid of some nursing texts because they were already a bit outdated. Only keep the basics - most stuff changes so rapidly!

we DID...
nursing textbooks could NOT be returned at all.
they changed them too frequently and it was a bookstore policy. they made money hand over fist on nursing books, I tell ya.
