I just found out today, that my school has a test every semester in dosage calculations. In order to stay in the program, a student needs to get 90% correct. There is only one try. Don't you think this is tuff? :crying2:
Yeah I just took mine on Friday. I'm second semester and it wasn't that bad. They do the 90% or above thing, too. You get three tries and have to do tutorial/remidial work also. If you fail three times then you have to drop the clnical.
I had a hard time with this one IV question because I knew what it was and what was being asked but I had to think for a few minutes on how exactly to get the calculation. Teacher threw in some info that wasn't needed for the calculation, you know? Kinda confusing.
But I just found out a few minutes ago that I got 100%, yay! :)

We had 3 exams: #1 80%, #2 90%, #3 100%. It is very stressful and yes, it sounds very strict. Our instructor explained it to us like this:
10 correct medication calculations = 10 patients,
1 medication calculations error = 9 patients.
