does your school require a dosage caluculations test that has to be above 90%?

Published

I just found out today, that my school has a test every semester in dosage calculations. In order to stay in the program, a student needs to get 90% correct. There is only one try. Don't you think this is tuff?:crying2: :crying2: :crying2:

We had 3 exams: #1 80%, #2 90%, #3 100%. It is very stressful and yes, it sounds very strict. Our instructor explained it to us like this:

10 correct medication calculations = 10 patients,

1 medication calculations error = 9 patients.

Yeah I just took mine on Friday. I'm second semester and it wasn't that bad. They do the 90% or above thing, too. You get three tries and have to do tutorial/remidial work also. If you fail three times then you have to drop the clnical.

I had a hard time with this one IV question because I knew what it was and what was being asked but I had to think for a few minutes on how exactly to get the calculation. Teacher threw in some info that wasn't needed for the calculation, you know? Kinda confusing.

But I just found out a few minutes ago that I got 100%, yay! :)

We have a dosage test that must be taken each semester before clinicals, that must be passed at 100%. Not sure how many chances the teachers will give. They took their second chance on friday. But I had already passed mine.

Yep, we have one each semester. 90% or better or you are out of the program. 2 tries.

We have one every semester and have to get 100%, and we have 3 times in which to do this. The one for this semester is this thursday. Hoping to get it the first time so as not to have to worry about it till nexy year.

We have to take a medication math test before going out on second year placements. Three attempts, no calculators and you must get 100%.
