Does anyone know of a handwashing video or effective instructional material regarding good handwashing skills??Thanks!

At my LTC we use the videotape "All Hands on Deck" by Brevis out of Salt Lake City. It is short and we find it useful.

In our school district we have been using"Scrubby Bear Clean Hands Club" from the American Red Cross, with excellent results. We have targeted the k-1st grades, with this program. Cute material. Hope this is of some help.

The St. Paul Ramsey County Department of Public Health has a handwashing teaching kit geared at the preschool & grades 1 - 3 which includes a video, book, handwashing cretificates and lesson plan. The kits video comes in three languages: English, Spanish and Hmong.

I'm a American Red Cross board member and I'm delighted to see Scrubby Bear listed here. Something else I have used is a product called Glo-germ which is a fluorescent material that simulates germs. good to demo how it takes vigorous, not casual, cleaning to remove germs from hands. You can find Glo germ on the net I think, or call them at 800.842.6622 and they will send you info materials. Kids and adults like this, though it can be a messy project with kids...
