School starts at my 900 student body at the middle school next week and this week is staff development. It's my 2nd year but first opening up the school and it's been hectic because I'm trying to learn and teach a new assist at the same time. Also the computer guy can't make my computer work and the office is handing me tons of work that I can't process. Also I'm having to attend some inservices. My goals are to perform my duties to a higher level by going beyond expectations, gaining trust of staff, being on top of immunizations and referrals where I can feel caught up. I love my job and I love the Junior High kids. Sometimes I find time for a quiet chuckle with a student to lighten a busy hectic day. I'm looking forward to working with an assist so I can better serve the school. I'm 48 with 20 years plus experience in med-surg, trauma, clinics. ;)

Hi! I am starting a new School Nurse position on Thursday the 17th. I will be working at the middle and high school. Well, the actual position is nurse assistant, but the RN seems very excited to have another RN as her assistant, and I am very excited to get my foot in the door. :wink2: I have had my license for 13 years, but have been home with my kids for 8, so I am hoping this is a good start back to the nursing world. I love lurking on this board!
