School Advisor says I shouldn't work???

Published

Hello!

I was speaking with my nursing advisor and she told me that only a handful of students work while attending the bsn program, and that she would highly reccommend that i do not work while going because it is very intense. Is it possible to live off of loans for the next two years? Do they pay for your personal expenses as well as educational? I still need to be able to pay insurance, buy groceries, etc.

Thank you for your help!

I am not. I have been, and will continue using my loan overage for living expenses. But, I am single, no family, I usually live on campus, and thus my only expenses are food. In addition, I'm going to the least expensive 4year public university in my state.

I work full time, have a husband and 4 children between us and have maintained an "A" average through my first year. I have vacation days saved since in our last year a few of the clinicals end up during the week. I have a study schedule I stick to, I study every where I can and I still spend time with my family. It's not impossible. Good luck no matter what you decide. :)
