  1. Their pay is based on years of experience. Are you a new grad? The interview questions are the normal "why do you want to work L&D", "what are your strengths and weakness'" etc. Let me know how it goes!
  2. Interview went great, I start in July. The manager is very nice. Good luck!
  3. I finally have an interview for a L&D position after 3 years of med surg and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience at St Agnes and or if you know their pay scale for experienced nurses?
  4. I worked on a TCU for six months after graduation and started applying for jobs in hospitals. I made sure my resume had all the skills I used on the TCU, assessment, dressing changes, Charge Nurse, TPN, IV's, Tube feeding, etc. I landed a job on the med/surg ortho floor at a local community hospital and I love it. I actually miss the TCU too so I pick up PRN hours there as well. Good luck and work on that resume!
  5. Yes, Genesis has a $2 differential for evening/nights.
  6. I look forward to hearing comments on this. I work at a Transitional Care Unit/LTC with up to 30 patients and I had an interview today for a Med/Surg Ortho unit. The manager said up to 6 patients and that sounded like heaven but I understand they are more acute which is actually what I'm looking forward to.
  7. The two interviews that I have had I received call backs pretty quick (within a week) for the interviews. I also received dozens of rejection emails too though. You just have to keep applying and try to follow up with nurse recruiters at the hospitals.
  8. I was just hired in a LTC/Subacute facility for $25/hr 7-3:30 and $27 3:00-11:30 and I'm in Maryland.
  9. Thank you so much for the info. I'm getting really excited, I do a shadow day next week to get familiar with the facility and then I start orientation 9/7. So thankful I found a job!
  10. This is very encouraging! I start in the subacute unit of a LTC facility but I'm fortunate to get 8 weeks orientation and then 2 weeks on the floor with my mentor so I'm definately eased into everything. It's not the ED job that I wanted but I'll get there eventually.
  11. I was accepted into the September New Grad Residency and I'm excited and nervous! How is training go for you now? Are you in LTC or a skilled facility?
  12. I just graduated in May but I feel your frustration. I had an interview last week only to be told other applicants with experience were being considered. I have another interview next week for LTC, not my first choice by any means but we'll see how it goes. Good luck, I feel your pain.
  13. I just graduated from a 2 year Evening/Weekend program. The classes were from 6-9 M,T,Th with Sat and Sun clinicals the first year and T,W,Th 6-9 with Sat & Sun clinicals the second year. I worked full time too and it was tough but I made it through. :)
  14. I took my NCLEX on Saturday and everything says completed except "Discipline" says "Pending". I'm not going to stress about it because I know I haven't done anything to require "Discipline". They probably update everything in stages I would give a few days and if it doesn't change give them a call.
  15. Oh, I know it's suppose to be 48 hours but she was just letting me know that sometimes they are available earlier.
