sccc 2012 nursing program hopefuls

Hello . I am starting this thread for anyone who has applied for the fall 2012 start suffolkc.c.c. nursing program. I have applied for the Ammerman day program. I was hoping to find some company on my journey to acceptance day(hopefully:)).

Ordered my books today too! Very excited to be able to look through them and get started. I'm having problems with my CPR cert though. It's expiration is up soon, not exactly sure when, but I might have to take a renewal class. Does anyone have any suggestions where I could do this?

Are our uniforms needed by the first day of clincals? When you say slack pants, what kind of color do they want? That's a great quote LOL. I guess it is good to reenforce the underwear to some girls, for some of us it's common sense though!

Hi caitcusack914! Uniforms are not required to be worn for the first 2 weeks as they are "ACE" days so we won't be going to the clinical sites for those 2 weeks. On the papers they handed out it should say where to go. We'll just be learning basic skills at first. There is a uniform store right down the road from the college. They said that Suffolk requires a white button down shirt with collar or no collar and the pants can't be drawstring or have pockets on the legs (only regular pockets) but has to be white as well.

Caitc the place mshultz is talkin about has three different style pants you can wear... If you tell the ladies what school you are in they know what to get for you .... Very helpful :) .. One style has a string and a stretch waist band but it not a sting tie like regular scrubs it's also creased and will be acceptable the tops are button downs

Hey everyone! I was waitlisted, and got a call from Suffolk yesterday asking if I'd accept the spot. I hope this gives anyone who is waitlisted hope being that I was one of them! I was wondering if anyone knows when would we have to take a dosage calculations test. Is it on the very first day or in the middle of the semester?

And to domia, I haven't heard about a dosage calc test on the first day, so I don't believe so....

That's great domia! No calc test ... but recommended you take the dosage class. Were you accepted to day or evening?

Has anyone purchased the required books yet? I looked online and some of the isbn numbers do not match the titles or it's a different edition. I'm guessing just to buy the latest edition what do you all think, I just don't want to waste the money

Ur I got them all the fundamentals isbn os wrong it's for the 7 th Ed not the one we need

I received an email today in my school email from the professor. She said that the ibsn # that was on the paperwork they handed out is for the 7th edition. They want us to buy the 8th edition so they listed the ibsn # for that. Hope that helps!
