Scared, Confused, and Worried..am i pregnant?

Published

Hi all...I'm new to this..and, in fact, i am not a nurse... I found this site and considering how many responses many of the posts get, i figured that it would be a good place to get some general advise from people who know a hell of a lot more than i do...

I am currently on a birth control pill and sexualy active. As far as my cycle goes when i've been on the pill, it has always been consistant..i've never been late. A couple of times there was a brown discharge the day before i was supposed to start my period, but then the next day (the day i was expecting my period) my period always started without fail...I was supposed to start my period this past tuesday (November 22)... to my surprise i did not have any brown discharge the day before...then on first day i was supposed to be on my period, there was nothing at all...and today (nov.23) there is some brown discharge instead...so far there are no signs of normal period bleeding...there was a day that i know for sure i did not take my pill because it was mysteriously just gone and that was around the 1st/2nd week of active pills....is pregnancy a possibility??? and if so, how much of a possibilty??

I dont think i would be so worried if i wasnt always so consistant on the pill...and i've been trying to do some research, all of which just make me a little more nerveous...could i be pregnant?? Any help would be greatly appriciated by a couple that is starting to get rather scared...thanks all!

A regular over-the-counter home pregnancy test....even the cheap "generic" kind, is about 99% accurate when done correctly. And if you can urinate on a stick, it will be correct. Most can accurately detect pregnancy even a day or two after your missed period.

welcome! I agree with the poster above. You know your body best. If you suspect something is wrong you still need to consult your GYN. OTC pregnancy test can be great but not always accurate depending on how soon you may have become pregnant.

Not a nurse either. I kindly suggest you visit your healthcare provider soon. Wishing you nothing but the best.
