Saw my name on my BON RN list today!

Published

Took nclex Saturday at 8am and dunno while answering the test if the choices I made on sata drag n drop meds n abcd are correct.

I was like these questions are none the same as uworld kaplan ncsbn hurst saunders and la chlarity.

I was like praying gimme questions I know dammit!

To those who graduated like 2yrs 5yrs or so on. I graduated 10yrs ago on a foreign university. Served the Army after my graduation date and was stationed in Middle East. Got discharged and worked for a Middle Eastern government as EMT/ nurse. Then got married with my canuck wife and settled in her country.

Canada is like doesn't recognize immigrants education and I ended up doing NA job. From a 6 figure income down to minimum wage in Canuck country.

Told myself this isn't living so I decided to get my RN.

I recalled everything from nursing school. Used NCSBN for content. My ATT was December 2015. So 75 days validity. I stretched that and scheduled March 5th for the test date. Dec to Jan 31st I did core content and the entire month of Feb 2016 was all qbanks from Kaplan, ncsbn, few of la chlarity/ saunders, and uworld. To gauge myself to where I stand.

I suck testing using uworld. My scores are from 55 to 65% lucky I got 74% one time.

One thing I noticed is that whenever i use uworld qbank for 75 items and I dunno if im answering right or not, my scores are above 60%. But if I get cocky, I get 55%.

Taking nclex I was like so dumb and on 2 questions I 2nd guessed myself but chosen the one I picked first. So I overridden my 2nd guess choice which are incorrect.

During the test I was thinking I need to get all the questions correctly. I'm thinking all my choices are poor and I'm failing. Told myself I'll pass this test. Give me more questions so I can make up for the wrong answers I made

Then at q75 I was like ****!

Computer stopped and I was panicking. Holy crap oh no! ddammit!

Did the survey and left the center. At the elevator my proctor came in and told my im following you as a joke. I was like, really your following me upto outside the building?

She said I'm kidding. She smoked outside.

At the parking lot I tried to shout and puked at the same time. I feel I didn't pass. I felt all my answers are not right.

Sunday. Im contemplating and trying to rationalize my answer choices to be correct. Thinking there might be a chance I passed the test because my scores on uworld are in the 60's. The night before the test I tried saunders 75 assessment questions and scored 80% but did badly on uworld last 14 questions on the 1800 plus qbank and scored 50% on it. So I was like ****!!

Monday at 8am. This morning. While taking my business in the crapper I browsed pearson vue online result and is asking me $7.50. **** that, if I didn't pass I'm not wasting that amount to know. I went to my board of nursing website license lookup and typed my last name. I was thinking its not gonna be here. But there it is.

After a decade from nursing school, I passed NCLEX-RN with 75 questions on my first try.

Now I'm looking for a job.

Good luck to those who are on their way.

Ask any questions and I'll answer. Except my nclex questions.

CONGRADULATIONS great job. I graduated almost 3 years ago. You are a big INSPIRATION. Which resources do you think helped the most ?

Thank you.

I took everything I can get. Assimilated all research based knowledge out there.

My review content came from ncsbn, hurst, nursing books, 35pg floating around, la chlarity, feuer, google, you tube, cdc and health dept website.

Answered like 5 to 6 thousand nclex style questions. From ncsbn, pda, kaplan, saunders and lastly to the hardest uworld questions.

Uworld qbank made me use my RN IQ aside from the rationales. One thing I did not agree was giving hydromorphine on a acute pancreatitis patient. Uworld said there is no fact to support morphine causes spasm to sphincter of odi. But I reserve my answer cause nclex might not have updated yet.

Good luck to you and believe in your knowledge and ability. You'll have you RN.

Oh really? I'm using UWorld now. Finished 900 questions with 60% current average. I did LaCharity 2 times for reinforcement. Does this mean I'll have to rely on my ESPN to get the right answer? Great, wonderful, taking the exam in a few weeks. :sarcastic: Scared!

Well if uworld questions are in NCLEX then the institution that safeguard the public have failed. Just buy your months subscription and you'll be an RN.

My average on all 1800 questions are 61.5%

Well if your gonna use your extra sensory perception (dunno what you mean by n in your espn) by all means your welcome for it. Free country.

I meant about RN IQ is your critical thinking skills.

Sorry, it was a typo. Okay, I get it. Many people in this forum say the NCLEX looks or feels like UWorld. Others say UWorld was harder than the real NCLEX. But I suppose each individual's experience is unique. It is wrong to generalize.

I was expecting like what others say about uworld and nclex and I was expecting my first question on nclex will be sata. But bam!

Computer gave me a question I overlooked on my review.

I was like telling the computer give me questions I know so I will not do critical thinking. Like talking to a wall. All questions required me to use my mind, and I'm glad my intelligence didn't falter.

I guess it really doesn't matter how we compare NCLEX to. So long we pass the test and be great nurses who advocates for our patients.

I had experience with a dumb nurse here in canuck land who was manhandling my toddler for IV insertion. I told this dumb nurse "If I do that to your daughter are you gonna like it?"

G ddamn dumb sob!

I always care for patients thinking he or she is someone's child or parent. Because I want others to offer the same kindness to me or my family.

Good luck on your test!

Trust your intelligence and you'll succeed with all your endeavors.
