your suppose to do chapter Qs 1st then review to see where you are and what you really know .if you get 75% on the chapter test then move on to the next chapterif you get less then 75% then you review the chapter afterwards see how you do on the test again. I used saunders. It took me a bit to go through all the chapters. I was doing 3-4 Ch a day. I took notes and highlighted what I didnt know.Honestly I made it a point to do the chapters I knew I was weak in first(peds,ob,cardiac, math and meds etc)Once I understood those the rest was a piece of cake in so many words.I started doing as many Qs as I could handle which ended up being 50-70 3 days a week.If I could fit in more days then it was great.I probably could have tested sooner if I had been doing Qs every day, but hey that is me.
FOCUS ON INFECTION CONTROL(there is a post here that really helped me actually the day before I was to test.know all the details ie what to wear if a pt has X.If you know airborn and contact then everything else is droplet),PRIORITY(who do you see first)DELEGATION,TRY TO REVIEW MEDS AND COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
fOR ME AND MANY OTHERS SAUNDERS HAS HELPED TO STRENGTHEN OUR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT DISEASES.THE Q'S AT THE END OF THE CHAPTER WERE ON THE EASY SIDE. SO I USED LIPPINCOTT'S Q & A REVIEW NCLEX-RN 9th ed FOR MY Q'S.YOU GET THE BOOK AND A CD.These were just like NCLEX_RN Qs I had.SATA,hotspot, math(which I found lacking with Saunders, everything I needed and wanted to answer was there
Now I did use the CD from Saunders because I found it harder than the book, especially the pharm section.

I'm taking my NCLEX July 21st!!.. I took Kaplan, I've been doing the QT's and the Qbank questions. I have a Saunders book that I have been going through and reviewing content from for several hours daily.. pretty much going thru every chapter, every major body system, and doing those questions. Plus I bought a Mosby's book just full of questions. My Kaplan scores are getting a little better (FINALLY!!) as I am doing more questions and learning more. Is that enough? haha. I read somewhere that people thought Saunders was easy?? I really love the Saunders book and think that it gives a ton of good, key, important info. Any comments from anybody who has used Saunders to study for the NCLEX? Also, is it a bad idea to do the chapter questions after I have reviewed and studied the content for a few days? I feel like I'm more able to get the questions right AFTER i review the chapter, but i don't know if that is helping or hurting me?
And is there anything else I should be doing or focusing on? I'm just trying to do as much as I can before my test date.
coming on here and reading everyones posts sometimes stresses me out.. i hope i'm preparing decently enough!
