hi all,
I'm testing soon, and am looking for a little reassurance that my practice scores are OK as I head into the exam. I've been doing both Saunders and NCLEX 4000. I'm consistently getting 75% on NCLEX 4000 and have been getting between 70-80% on Saunders.
Can you share how you've done on the NCLEX (passed or failed) and what your scores have been on these two practice exams?
Of course I realized that everyone's experience is different--I'm just trying to get a feel for how prepared I am for the "real thing". I don't think I'll ever feel TRULY prepared--just hoping it's "enough". :)
Thanks!

How do you feel about being ready? This is a better predictor of your readiness than predictor scores. They have been known to go both ways for people and should not be relied upon. Good luck.
Like I said, I don't think I'll ever feel like I'll be truly ready (having ALL the info I learned in nursing school on perfect recall). Also, I've read stories on here about people here who have felt ready and charged into the exam only to have been stopped cold, so that can go both ways as well.
I'm awful when it comes to straight memorization--lab values, adverse effects, etc. Cramming facts just doesn't work for me--I can only keep so many in my head at a time! I am more of a problem solver, and usually think about the mechanism of action of a drug or a disease process and then use deductive reasoning to come to the correct answer. I got a 1056 on the exit HESI when I graduated in May, and I probably have been a little less diligent than I should have been in prepping. I've averaged about 100 questions of either Saunders or NCLEX 4000 a night for the past 3 weeks... I feel like I've got the "feel" of the questions down... 75% of the time! Just hoping that's enough!

Hello,
I recently took NCLEX-RN two weeks ago. I was averaging about 70-85% on the NCLEX 4000 and I passed with 75 questions. I found that the NCLEX 4000 was really helpful except that there was not as much delegation. I also used the ExamCram CD which I found helpful because it is supposed to "mock" NCLEX. One of the biggest things though is being mentally prepared. The day before relax and enjoy it. Remember you made it through nursing school, you will make it through NCLEX! :) Good luck on NCLEX!
