No such thing existed before. You should apply through an agency. See where you wish to work and maybe talk to colleagues already working in KSA to find out. When you know where you want to go, see which agency is the representative.

If you want to work in the Middle East, only your local license will do. You don't have to apply for a Saudi nursing license.

I'm not certain on the finer points of this but I remember when I worked in Al Khobar, the Filipino nurses did have to take and pass an exam for some sort of Saudi nursing license or registration.
Never heard of it before, when I worked in Riyadh, so it may be something to do with working in smaller Saudi run hospitals, clinics etc. I'm sure the recruiters in the Philippines would be able to tell you more about it and if you would need it for the job you would be taking.
Good Luck!

Usually some employers will have job applicants take a nursing exam given and provided by their own agency. They just want to test the nursing knowledge of the applicants. For those who passed , they will go into the next hiring process.
But now, even a fresh graduate with license and no experience can work in the Kingdom. Also if an applicant is a muslim, they don't require a Philippine license to work.
Yeah, Rep, this was in 2002, so could have changed a lot. Just remember they had Saudi nursing licenses and talked about taking the exam.
Could you clarify something? If a Filipino nurse is a muslim, they do not require a Philippine nursing license to work in the Kingdom? What - do they just graduate and go? I can't imagine not wanting to take the exam and get my license, despite the fact it can be difficult. Weird, no?

Yes, a nursing graduate who is a Muslim can work in Saudi with out a license. Before I left the Philippines early this year.. I lived in the southern part fo the country where there is a considerably muslim population and I saw ads inviting muslim nursing graduates with no license to work as nurses in the kingdom.
In my batch in 1991, several Muslim clasmates of mine went to work without a license and this practice continues up to now.
You can see ads in the newspapers that say " Wanted: Nurses to work in Saudi Arabia. Christian nurses must have current license, Muslim nurses no license required. " In a sense , Muslims can just graduate from nursing schools and go to the kingdom.
And one thing, I know one in my batch who did not pass the local nursing exam even she tried several times.. She was a christian and converted to Islam when she married her muslim boyfriend. She immediate went to work in Saudi Arabia as a nurse.
But I think this practice is common to small hospitals not the type like the King Fhad Military Hospital where they conduct nursing examinations to job applicants there. I say this related to what is happening there in my city. I just don't know if they have this thing in Manila or in some other cities in the Phils.
