Hello to everyone..Can I ask anyone who is working with MOH saudi Arabia? Can I ask if they are offering a 1 year contract? Can you give me also an idea regarding their exam? Thank you in advance. Godbless!
Hi I'm new here :) I passed my requirments at POEA last February 10, 2009. Got a text message for interview last March 27 and got interviewed last April 1. Just last Friday, July 3, 2009 I reported to SRO because they will give me my hospital assignment. I am assigned under MOH-HOP and I my hospital assignment is at King Saud Hospital in Unzayah, Qassim. :) anyone here got an idea what is it to look forward to in this hospital? Thank you! :)
how much is your offer?
I really wanted to work as a nurse and I think that the only choice left is to apply for Saudi. I tried applying in several agencies w/c are accepting applications from inexperienced nurses only to withdraw my application afterward for several reasons, 1st I was advised they will fake my docs & will show that i already have experience, 2nd, i inquired in poea & found out the agency doesnt have job order for nurses. They have job orders of DH!! Similarities of those agencies is that they require me to submit my PASSPORT and have my medical from GAMCA even before I get an interview w/ the employer w/c is a big NO NO accdg to POEA. Original docs & medicals should only be submitted if you already passed an interview w/ the employer. These agencies are licensed agencies but it seems they are doing an illegal process. & the last agency I applied to has the same practice- faking credentials & asking me to submit orig docs upon application but I know several applicants I met on that agency WHO ARE NOW IN SAUDI. & i really felt dismay that I didnt pushed thru my application at that time. Now, i am really thorned & undecided whether to trust my documents and my FATE to that agency if ever they will be able to send me to KSA. Any advise?
There are a lot of choices:
1. Try Australia or New Zealand
2. Try other agencies
Ciara18, please go to the POEA website and get the list of agencies who are delisted and/or cancelled. This way, you won't fall prey to heartless recruitment agencies. May I remind you - NEVER GIVE YOUR ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS, that's why they specifically ask for certified copies. Stay safe ciara18 and may God be with you.
Thank you for the advice miztahcool! I really appreciate it =) The last time I went in that agency, there was an orientation for nurses who will be departing the next day and I overheard that they shouldn't wonder/worry why one of their document is showing a different job title (I cant remember if its nurse assistant or midwife), because their work there would be staff nurse. Seems like the agencies work has some hocus pocus involved. Your right, there are agencies that could really be heartless. Thank you smuch! =)

Military hospitals in KSA accepts nurses without experience and the salary offerred is way up high than what you have mentioned ciara18. You were right in saying that most agencies won't offer a salary of more than SR 2,000 for a non-experienced nurses, but these are for private hospitals which can never equal what government hospitals can offer. A salary of SR 1,600 is OK for you but it all depends really on the person. My point is, if you do accept a salary of less than what I have mentioned, then you better be ready if you do come here. Prime commodities in KSA have increased. I will try to give you an example: 5 kg of rice is SR 30 (PHP 378), that's PHP 75 per kilo. We are buying our staple for 50% more than what it costs 2 years ago. Think about it.
k_jorel is concerned about safety. Yes k_jorel, female nurses are perfectly safe out here as long as you don't go around naked (just kidding). Really, it depends on how you define safety. Safety here for female nurses involves not going out without a chaperon, especially in Riyadh. There are cases here where women are abducted and raped if they ever go alone. As long as you follow the rules, you are safe.
Here's the main catch: most nurses who have worked in KSA do not really want to stay here for long. Some of them do stay. Others have gone to Canada, Australia, the US, and New Zealand because of the brighter prospects in these countries. If your main objective is this, then you won't mind a salary of SR 1,600 if you're still single, that is.
There's a chronic shortage of nurses here. Imagine a typical ratio of 1:15, but this is only my own conjecture. In my own experience, when I get home from a day's work, I'm dead tired, too tired to even eat. This is what I am experiencing right now. Not to mention that I'm studying for the IELTS, reviewing my textbooks, in-house training, and a lot of other stuff.
But I am encouraging you. All of you. If you do ever get here, don't waste your time in KSA.
Good luck and God speed.
