Here it is, 3:30 PM, and where is everybody?
I slept until 12 noon, Nannie got up around 12:15 PM, and hubby got up at 12:30 PM. It's Saturday AGAIN, but every day seems like Saturday here, and lemme tell ya, it's tedious!
Right now we are doing the "What-Do-You-Want-Me-To-Get-For-You-For-Your- Supper" game. Hubby suggests something, we agree, then he says, "Or I could go to...." Then there is a discussion, and we say that we want the first thing, and hubby says, "Or I could go to _________, or __________". I do not understand why, when we have reached a consensus, he has to throw all those other choices into the mix. OH WELL!
Last night I decided to help Nannie get ready for bed, as she has a hard time pulling off her pants (which were wet). As I pulled down the covers, I noticed that EVERYTHING was urine soaked in a 2 & 1/2 foot diameter circle, and she had laid a light blanket over the quilt, so it could not be seen! I also noticed that the seat of her recliner was wet. Thankfully, I had purchased a large pkg of incontinence pads YEARS ago, in anticipation of this very thing! I stripped the bed, scrounged around for clean sheets and enough blankets for the night. I also made generous use of the underpads. Now I am washing all the stuff I pulled off the bed ---- and it is taking 3 (THREE!) loads! Can't trust Nannie not to soak the bed and/or chair anymore. even with pull-ups which she now lines with TWO long pads, one on top of the other. GOOD GRIEF!
The neighbors next door are preparing for a wing-ding of a Labor Day celebration. Don't know about the # of guests; usually it is just some of their buddies and their kids. We may be invited, but will decline. Sitting around a fire-pit while the adults drink beer and the kids scream and splash---not my idea of fun.
The Braves won the ballgame in Fla last night, 8-1. (the game was not aired here) There is a game tonight, which IS on the channel on which we usually watch the games, thank goodness.
The sun went behind a cloud and Nannie asked me if I saw the sunset. Uh, nope! Sunset isn't until between, um, 7:30 and 8 PM? Maybe? But not now (4:11 PM). Just clouds floating momentarily in front of the rays of sunshine.
Hey, did I mention that I won something on the Powerball Wednesday? It was FOUR dollars! So I bought two more tickets for tonight's drawing. What the heck, eh?
dianah, My sister (in Maine) had some leftover fried clams, but then she had a tooth pulled and something else, and realized she couldn't eat anything solid. Soooo, (ICK, BLICK, SHUDDER) she put two fried clams and 8 oz of water in the blender and "slushied" them. She said the clams were "still too tough to chew." I guess the blender didn't "blend"! It is kinda gag-worthy, doncha think?
Outta here for now, will come by later to see who might have posted.
What's the movie playing on TCM? I guess I could look it up, but it's easier just to ask you!
My hubby has opted out of nearly ALL domestic cleaning activities. Now he just says, "Well if somebody comes in and doesn't like it, they can leave." When we were first married, he cleaned the house every.single.Saturday. Dusted, vac'd, etc. and then mowed the lawn and washed both cars. Now he wonders at times "why am I so feeble now?" I ventured that the Vodka has a lot to do with it. Honest to goodness......FEEBLE? REALLY? ppfftt!
My hubby has opted out of most anything around the house, too. I think it’s a combo of not using his CPAP and stressing about his job. He spends most of his weekends asleep in his recliner. And when he’s awake, he complains about not getting anything done. He’s had this 10 day camping trip planned for a month, that was going to start the day after he retired. Now he delayed his retirement and is going to cancel his trip. And lose the camping deposit. But I can’t say peep without him biting my head off. So I’m trying to stay out of his way. The weather is quite nice, and I got some sleep last night, but I woke up at 4 and that was it. So I predict an afternoon nap is going to happen soon.
G'day!
Work was okay because we didn't get any admissions. Very unusual for any day but glad to have it. I had a patient go bat shite crazy on me, swinging at me when I was trying to draw blood, but was sweet as an angle later. I figured it must be the pain medication and that she's 80.
My ex opted out of housework, except for kitchen clean up. For some reason he liked a clean kitchen but didn't care about the bathrooms, dusting or anything else. Oh well, since I was the cook I appreciated the clean up afterwards.
J22, hope the post pacer treatment is working well for you.
I want an apple cider slushy.
The cost of apples these days is crazy.
Apple cider slushy sounds good. Hubs is mowing now. The down side of actually having some rain is that the grass grows. I haven't done much. A little laundry. Grilled some ribs for dinner. Wiped down counters in the kitchen.
The boys are out to celebrate a friend's birthday with her.
The movie on TCM was... um... about this company and the horrible man who took it over and the guy who kind of stood up to him but then joined him in the end. Patterns is the name of it. Van Heflin played Mr. Staples, the guy who stood up to the jerk.

Hello to all! I was about to type "good morning," but as it is almost noon here on the West coast, then y'all who are located more easterly, are well into the afternoon already, and OUT of the morning! Hope your day is going well!
We watched Zoom Sabbath School, and are soon to start a Zoom call with dh's brother. Not much else planned for today. We will be doing music tomorrow from 12:30-3:30 at the apple ranch. Apple harvest season has JUST begun! I'm sure dh will want to get one of their apple cider slushies!
Have a good day!
