Stars that must be frustrating, the endless repetition

Ado hope you were able to get outside

NJ22 I hope the weather improves

Dianah that sounds like a nice service

Yesterday was good, the last of my symptoms disappeared yesterday morning and did not return.  Decided to skip the Arboretum and instead did cooking in addition to baking.  Which turned out to be a wise decision, as the cooking took longer than expected.  Originally I had planned to cook during the weekend but that would have made things too rushed

Had an unusual number of dreams last night, I think that was because the previous night my sleep was disrupted by the fever and I slept in.  Found a neat trick I've read about that works..if you realize you're dreaming but aren't get able to open your eyes and wake up, try shaking your head back and forth, and you should wake

Today will go to the Arboretum and have lunch with dad.  Then tonight hosting a dinner for the over 50 group.  Only 3 of us this time, hope the restaurant proves decent.  My church friend is hosting an evening service on Facebook, I'm going to try and attend as they've done this several times and I've missed it

Going to be a little warmer today, up to 72

Good morning.

Joe glad whatever it was passed.

Still on my phone.  It seems to be taking a long time to get my internet back this time.

Worked the last two-days in charge.  Still vey high census and ER holds but better than the weekend.

I have a company coming to give an estimate Monday but the insurance adjuster can't come until the 30th so I need to wait on repairs I guess and pray it doesn't rain much.

Sunny, neither cold nor hot. Nannie has yet to ask if we are going to go out. Ssshhhhhh, maybe she won't ask!?! The answer would be "No" anyway.......🙄 Oh shoot, she just asked if we are going anywhere today. I told her that I don't have enough gas to go driving around, and have nothing to get at the store, plus I don't get the SS check until Monday, so we are staying in. Unless she wants to go sit out on the patio, to which she said "No."

I want a bunch of free days and a bunch of money, but, per The Rolling Stones, "You Can't Always Get What You Want." *sigh*

SiL called and said she would come over tomorrow to get Nannie showered and dressed, but she won't take her over to her house until Wednesday afternoon. So that's another changed schedule; so what else is new? I still can't plan on anything ahead of time.

Nannie is happy because I put on the clothes I had to change her into yesterday afternoon since she fussed so much about the jersey and jacket I had put on her, and I also had to change her shoes so they would 'match' her britches. I told her no one was going to see her yesterday, but she was the one who was 'seeing' herself and she wanted different clothes on, even at 5 in the afternoon! Told her she would just be changing again at bedtime but she said she didn't care. Now, since she has her most recent "favorite outfit" back on today.....I have to "LOOK!" because her jersey sleeves can be pulled down past the wrists of her jacket. OMG. I KNOW, Nannie, I just got you dressed, I saw what I put on her and I know the things she likes about it. She spends so much time fiddling with the buttons and the sleeves and checking and rechecking the front of her jacket  I tried to get her to mess with the "busy pad" with buttons, zippers and laces on it, but she declined.

Just a few dishes to do, and no laundry (that I know of) and no errands to run, so I REALLY hope Nannie has to take a nap!! (Have my fingers, knees and eyes crossed!)

Blah-dee-blah and more blah. SiL says she is going to call the Senior Daycare Center again, but won't be able to talk to anyone in charge of the 3 waiting lists until Monday. It's always something.....or rather, it still isn't anything YET. Don't know until after her neurologist's appt if she'll have to have  procedure done to fix her hip/lower back. That would be good for her to have anything done ASAP, so her pain goes away, but how much time that might take to get resolved, I have no idea. Remember those "Mexican Finger-Traps" where you put your two index fingers in the ends of it, and then can't pull them both out at the same time? I am stuck in a life-trap, not just a finger-trap! Can't insist on changes to MY 'schedule' because everything else is still up in the air. I am sure earning my halo, but GADS, this "Path of Righteousness" is tedious beyond belief.

Another wet, windy day here, although not as cold. ds didn't come home from his school bus trip until 5 am. He's not up yet, but I suspect when he got back to the bus garage he was too tired to drive home and took a nap in his car. A long bridge that he had to cross was closed due to weather, and I suspect he missed the last ferry run. So he had to drive all the way around Puget Sound. Here is a picture of the water he sent yesterday.

I don't know if anyone remembers the movie "An Officer and a Gentleman", but this is the ferry that was in that movie, and the steam in the distance is the paper plant that Debra Winger supposedly worked at. If those clouds weren't there, you would see the Olympic Mountains.

I tried to go for a jog this morning,  but the wind was too much, so I took a nice walk. Then stopped by the pharmacy to pick up meds and got a flu shot. Their card reader was acting up, so I will go back Monday.

I need to go pull some more carrots to cook up for the dogs. And I will need to back to the ski swap to pickup any unsold items, and a check for what did sell.

The highlights of my day were laundry, dishes, and cooking, and that sounds about as exciting as it was. I did finish the book I was reading.

I made a creamy potato/hamburger soup that wasn't bad but that the guys are calling "hamburger helper" soup. Had crusty bread with it.

Hello all!

Thanks for sharing the photo, nursej22.  Great view!

No Stars, at least Nannie is pleased with her outfit, as opposed to being a grump about it and complaining all the time!

Tweety, enjoy your day off!

Joe, good you are feeling better.  What did you cook and bake?

We were going to get up at 8 and after getting ready, run up to Oak Glen to get two apple pies for tomorrow's post-memorial service reception.  But, neither of us slept well, so we decided to go in the afternoon.  Dh texted our friend, the ranch manager/owner, and he assured us there would be pies in the afternoon.  Well, we took the "back route," and when we got up there, we realized that pies were the LEAST of our problems: it was the TRAFFIC and NO PARKING ("LOT FULL") at the place we usually go!  I mean, cars were parked on both shoulders for a mile, and traffic was stop-and-go before we reached the place where we usually turn, near the Nature Conservancy.  Then we saw the "LOT FULL" sign, and slowly made our way past the turnoff.  Then, about 300 yards up, was a dirt road turnoff into their "U-Pick" area.  We turned in there, found a good parking spot, and by golly, found the pies we wanted in the little building that was a branch of the one we usually stop into!  SUCCESS, by hook or by crook!

Tomorrow we will be up by 8 to get ready, and meet at 10 at the church, so the music group can practice the one sing-along scheduled in the program.  I will drop off the pies at the reception area before we go into the church.

Dh bought some new black and khaki pants, with loads of pockets.  The black pair are in the wash now, to be put into the dryer on high after they have cogitated awhile.  Just for pre-emptive shrinkage, yanno.  I may have to hem the pants (I usually do), can do that later after they are dry.

It was nice today, 78 degrees and not as breezy as yesterday.  At the graveside service yesterday, toward the end of the service, I noticed four burly staff members hanging around on the fringes of the area, and then a big tractor pull up and park on the street (one of the cemetery's winding roads through the acreage).  I hoped no one was offended by the staff getting ready to complete the burial (after we were done dropping yellow roses onto the casket).  Staff urged us to continue our visiting at the site of the luncheon, so they could complete "the burial."  I got it, they probably had to schedule four or five burials that day, and needed to best utilize staff and time.  Later, I got to chat with our friend's wife (the widow) at the luncheon, and she commented, "Did you see that tractor pull up while they were lowering the casket?"  She grinned, "S. would have LOVED seeing that tractor!  I thought it was perfect!!"  So, one never knows...  She seemed pleased with the service, with the music, with the luncheon.  Family all around, which was good.  Now for the memorial service tomorrow.  At least it will be indoors, in the church.  Yesterday it was VERY windy; we did our best under the circumstances!  Oh, and I noticed burro droppings as we walked from our car to the burial site.  I had to grin to myself, as burros getting into his yard and leaving their droppings, was a constant irritation to our friend - and here they gave a final "so THERE!" to him!

Have a good evening!
