Stars glad the patio and the fireplace got fixed

Tweety glad the thermostat was fixed

Ado that was a long line

NJ22 hope today proves less dreary

Work was good yesterday, rather quiet, no new cases, helped a coworker in the afternoon and still had plenty of time

After work drove to my dad's to pick up his mail.  Got the mail but couldn't figure out how to get into the apartment building, so I took the mail home.  Ran to the pet store too

Talked with my sister, we're going to visit dad today.  It's about a hour and half drive to where he is.  She's going to bring some supplies.  The transesophageal ultrasound has been delayed until Mon.  There has been some talk that he may need to go to a rehab center for the IV antibiotics post discharge, if I get the chance I'm going to push to see if he can go home with home health instead

Timing will be a bit tricky as I will need to make the baked spaghetti for the church potluck tomorrow.  Decided I will skip bird watching and do some of the preparation this morning and do the cooking tonight, should have enough time.

Svengoolie has The Mummy, might watch that as we set the clocks back and as a result I won't have to go to bed too late to watch it

Going to be in the upper 50s today, rain should hold off until at least tomorrow

Good morning.

Joe, I hope your father can go home with home infusions.
Went to Home Depot and Lowes to look at storm doors for my front door that got damaged in the hurricane.  It's covered by insurance but the deductible is so high I'll have to pay cash.  The door works though.  Also got a new porch light to replace the one that doesn't work outside my door but it's so high, I'm going to hire an electrician and I have something else he can do with an outlet when he comes.  $$$$

I mowed the grass and really don't have much else planned for the day.  I splurged and got some "Schezuan chili oil" and will make a stir fry with that.

Good Afternoon~

Today is  *The Day Of The Laundry*.....because I had two loads from the dryer that I took out and stuck in the laundry basket two days ago, so they had to be folded. To heck with the wrinkles! I haven't done my own laundry like I said I was going to, so that's the next two loads to be washed. Then some of Nannie's clothes need to be washed. The spots on her blanket and sheet (from where she makes the bed and then sit on it wearing her wet pJ bottoms and pads) are not too large, so I have pulled the bedding back and turned the ceiling fan on high. I tell myself I "should" at least change the sheets, but I am tired to pieces of making and remaking beds. You'd think I have a whole ward full of patients the way I carry on!  I might have to wash my comforter again, but there's  NO pee on it! So, I'm not sure I'll feel like getting to that when all this other laundry is done. Annnnd more dishes need washing, mostly juice glasses, coffee cups, and silverware (flatware that LOOKS silver but isn't.), and dog food plates.

I found Nannie sitting up in her recliner when I came down to the den. She had on one of her "favorite" jackets, and two blankets over her lap and legs.....and when I took them off to walk to the bathroom.....she was plum-nekkid! So she got washed down and redressed and "YES, Nannie, I will put your favorite jacket back on you, over your 'favorite' jersey."  It is so funny to see her eyes light up when I bring the clothes into the bathroom to dress her.....she smiles and claps her hands, and says, "Oh, I really LIKE those! You're so smart!" I told her after 8 years of taking care of her and her clothes, I KNOW which things are her 'favorites'.....(which is pretty much all of her jackets, and the matchy clothes to coordinate with her pants, socks and shoes).

I woke up earlier to feed Momo, made myself a small cup of coffee, and then after I took my meds, I laid back down and slept some more. Unfortunately I slept on my right side and, as usual when I do that, I get 'trapped gas'.....very uncomfortable. Thank goodness for GAS-X !

So I was on "Fly-Kill" duty for about 15 minutes, when Momo dove into her 'clamshell' dog bed face first; an indication that SOMETHING was flying in the room. Now, if it lands somewhere the first thing I do is spray it with the ZEVO, because the fly doesn't see the spray coming, like it does with the swatter. The Zevo plug-in that is supposed to attract flies/bugs and trap them when they land on the sticky Zevo backing, well,  Chatty CG says hers always traps the flies, but so far the one I plugged in the outlet has eliminated nada! And it's been a week or so. I do have the option to do the 'return for a full refund', but first I have to locate the sales slip. And I am hopeful that eventually it WILL attract and kill the flies. Or maybe I'm too lazy to go through the hunt and then bring it back to the store.

Nannie is doing her "See? See this?" showing this and that with the clothes I dressed her in earlier. The sleeves get pulled down from the jacket sleeves to show me, and then she pulls up the hem of the jacket and pulls the hem of the jersey way down so I can 'see' it and how it matches the jacket colors. I get that it is nice that she likes her clothes, but what I don't care for is to have to acknowledge it every 30 to 60 seconds!  She never remembers that I JUST dressed her in her outfit, have been getting her dressed for 8 years, and she is showing it all to me repeatedly.  I know it is unrealistic to expect her to remember anything now, but it's kind of like what they used to call "Chinese water torture"....drip.......drip...... drip.......... drip..............drip.........DRIP!

Yeah, Chatty CG is one of those over-revealing yakkers, ie I don't ASK her anything specific about her life, but I am privvy to her histories in detail. Apparently in her personal life she no longer suffers fools gladly, and doesn't rule out getting physical if necessary. You'd never know about any of it if you just met her. But, she is very good with Nannie, and Momo likes her a lot, so what the heck. All she does when Nannie dozes off is get on her 'device'....phone or iPad or whatever. Very quiet at those times. And she doesn't go snooping like I know some sitters/aides do. I mean I did PDN for lots of folks and have some real doozy bunch of stories of what some of the other CG's have done at the patient's houses. SMH.

Joe, hope your dad is doing okay. I just hate it, though, that tests or treatments to be done are always held over the weekend until Mondays....or even Tuesdays. I think if it is an important thing, it ought to be done ASAP instead of being on hold. The hospital is open 24/7 and the nurses have to be there regardless, so why won't the hospital schedule things through the weekend? Put those departments personnel to work on weekends, too! (I HAVE SPOKEN!)

Time to switch washer/dryer loads again. What fun, what fun!

Good day, all!

As today is my 62nd birthday, I'm doing a lot of nothing. Napping and reading. Stepdaughter called this morning. The boys are bringing home tacos and fajitas. The expected rain hasn't started yet. Oklahoma won their football game against Maine. Hubs has been doing his and Gma's laundry today. Tomorrow I will have to make sure mine is done so I can be ready to pack for the risk managers' meeting in Charleston. I expect I'll still be excluded from extracurricular activities. No matter the election outcome, it could be odd and uncomfortable.

Hello all!

Happy Birthday, Ado!  How disappointing that politics can divide so much, that ppl can't maintain respect and courtesy.  Safe travels (and bring a book, I guess).

Joe, I hope your dad's TEE goes off without a hitch on Monday, and the valves are clean. THEN he can go home and take his Abx in the comfort of his own surroundings.  I hope you were able to get the baked spaghetti made (sounds good)!

Tweety, that chili oil sounds good, like it would give a nice kick and flavor.  Did you find a door and porch lite you wanted?

I didn't sleep till after 4:30, so slept in.  Dh woke me, I caught the last of the Zoom Sabbath School.  Then we got ready and picked up ds to eat a late lunch.  We were first going to the cool little Mexican food restaurant, with the artist-in-residence and his artworks surrounding the eating patio.  Then, we reconsidered that, thought it might be too crowded, what with Dia de los Muertos going on...  So we decided on Thai food, and then, while driving with ds, they both agreed they would like Mediterranean!  We hadn't been there in awhile, so we ate there!  AND the owner recognized us, and brought us out some freshly-made rice pudding, which his mom makes there on the premises.  And it is DEEEEEE-licious!!  We were VERY grateful!  Dh got his lamb chops and rice and salad; ds got lamb skewer and rice and hummus, and I got a Greek salad and hummus.  AND we enjoyed a big pot of their hot, BLACK, BLACK tea (dh had some Turkish-style coffee: thick and hot).  So, yeah, I guess we enjoyed it, LOL!  We had a nice visit with ds.

Not much else going on.  There are lots of clouds, but it depends what direction you look, as to whether they look like rain or just pretty fluffy clouds.  No rain is forecast for tomorrow, though we may get some later tonight.

Have a good evening!
