Tweety that sucks that they are not honoring their original commitment with regards to the pay

Ado glad you did not lose power

NJ22 hope the heel pain fades and your ds does not get neuralgia, I have a friend who has suffered that recently

Dianah happy birthday! I think my cat sometimes gets something similar, I've been using hairball gel to reduce the frequency. She also has an appetite stimulant that I have used once or twice before

Through some miracle I was able to leave work at 2pm yesterday as planned, work proved fairly quiet and nothing unexpected happened

Which was good as I had a bunch of things to do.  I had read an article in our local newspaper about some new women owned small businesses in my town, and since I was going to the post office anyway I decided to visit two of them, a bakery and an apothecary.  Got some pie and cookies, and some soap and bath bombs.  Also was able to stop at the library and a clothing store. And got home by the time I would have gotten off work.  Rest of the day was pretty quiet, mostly just exercised and enjoyed the temps in the upper 70s

Had my weather radio on last night due to bad weather expected, and was woken up around midnight with a tornado warning.  Thankfully it was way west of me and didn't make it here, although had some difficulty staying asleep after that

Today will do some bird watching this morning.  Have to stop the the grocery store and then pick up dad so we can drive to Indiana to see my niece's annual school musical.  Don't recall which part she is playing.  Going to be a bit of a long day but glad I have the morning free at least

Weather will be a bit cooler, mid 60s I think, the stormy weather should be done, no rain expected

Home on the Range, so to speak-----It's going to be cloudy all day ( I'll leave out the 'discouraging words') and in the lower to mid-70's. Tomorrow is the day we are supposed to 'experience the storm', whatever that might turn into....wind, rain, maybe thunder, etc.

Oddly enough, I woke up at 8 AM; it is almost 9 AM now and I am almost done with my first cup of coffee. Momo said it is too early for breakfast for her....she's staying in bed, if you please!

And, naturally there are things I could do, but the ever-present question hangs there as always....will I or won't I?

Today's silver lining is.....I am not one of the astronauts heading to the space station, and I am not one of the astronauts who hope like crazy that this "8 day trip" (a space-age Gilligan's Island?!) that lasted a year, is finally going to lead to coming back down to earth.

Forgot to mention Nannie's spot-on horror-scope for today: "You're kind of in a bind, as you don't exactly know what's going on...." TOOOOO true!

Mine sez there may be strained relationships today. Yuh, pretty much every day, especially regarding the Nannie-person......speaking of whom, it is time to get her up, dressed, fed, and medicated.

Yeah, yeah....There's also more dishes to wash, and probably wastebaskets to empty, and possibly laundry if Nannie  has any contributions to the things of hers that are in the washer waiting for the next round of ....agitation! 🙃😛🤐

Happy day-after-your-birthday, dianah!

Joe, I'm glad you had your time off.

J22, when do you leave for Belgium?

The winds are much calmer now. There were some bad fires in the state but not very close to us. The air was thick with dust and smoke last night.

Hubs and I have plans to go to Walmart (how romantic!) but other than that no plans for the day.

Hello all!

Joe, it is that laxative gel (Laxatone -- tuna-flavored!  Yum!) that we gave to Suzy last night -- and it was surprisingly easy to administer.  I thought she would be a little hellion, but she surprised me and took it well.  Dh says he saw this morning that it had worked (will not go into details 😉 )  Let's hope the good results continue, and she eats well and gains back a little weight.  AND stops vomiting those large amounts of water!!  I had to make a late bedding change last night, and I have the bedding to wash today, as a result of her issue!  Poor thing.

Enjoy your trip to see the school musical!

Thanks for the birthday greetings, Ado and Joe!  Same as every year, I don't feel any different, LOL!

We will meet with the band this afternoon, looking forward to that.  No rain is forecast for the next few days.  The mountains sure look nice with their mantle of snow!

Have a good day!

Happy Birthday, Dianah! I hope your kitty is on the mend. Tuna flavored laxative, eh?

Lots o' rain here, today. I got soaked during my jog/walk this morning. It was on the cool side, in the 40s, so I am hoping this adding to the snow pack in the mountains. It is sad to see how the glaciers are retracting in the Summer. I went to a town hall with our state legislators. They are in the middle of the legislative session. They had some hopeful news, but the state is facing a shortfall, and the schools  are hurting for funds. The school auditorium was standing room only which was nice to see the community participation.

Joe, your shopping trip sounded fun. Eek, tornado warnings! We don't have those here, so that would make me so nervous!

Ado, we get wildfire smoke here almost every Summer, usually from several miles away, California and/or Canada. It really can be nasty. And getting wild at Walmart, you two crazy kids, LOL.

We had planned to go the town hall together, but dh stayed home with a sinus headache. We also planned to go to dd's house to pick up my carryon suitcase, but dh is laying down. Maybe I'll go tomorrow after breakfast.

Gad, Tweety, I bet you are glad that you will be retiring in a few years. That place seems like it has some sketchy management practices.

Thank you for thinking of our ailing cat, nursej22.  After she had another bout of projectile vomiting around 2:30, we ran her over to a nearby vet.  Got there at 3:30, they closed at 5 (officially).  They took her right in, did diagnostic labs and a lat Xray.  The vet pulled some blood-tinged fluid from her abd, he said she had a lot of ascites.  Probably a tumor, especially given the anemia that showed in her labs and the presence of the ascites.  We made the difficult decision to euthanize her.  *sigh* So, at home, "and then there were five."  We will have a quiet evening.  Will reschedule band get-together for another time.  Dh is texting the ds's about the cat.

Good you got some rain, nursej22!

Have a good evening!

So sorry Diana.

Got a card from the vet myself today with the staff offering their condolences.  They sent a couple of paw prints and his nose print on a card.  Never heard such a thing but this is the first time I used this vet to euthanize.  Slowbro had been with them for 8 years.

Work sucked but at least I was a free charge.  Hopefully no one calls in.  About five RNs called off on night shift in various places.  Flu is still around as a coworker caught it.  We had a patient spend a few days in ICU she so sick with flu b.

I'm really getting tired of demanding, whining and entitled patients.  We are not a five star hotel or your punching bag.  Sheesh.

One more day and off for a few.  Guess I need it.

Thank you.

I hope your last day at work, tomorrow, before having a few much-needed and much-deserved days off, is tolerable, Tweety.  NO DRAMA!!  Let him do his JOB!!  Hugs.

Somehow missed dianah's b'day, so wishing now you had a good one and will do the same next year .... but without an emergency vet visit. Very sorry about the kitty. I would freak out if Momo began projectile vomiting,

And even tho' I never met him, I miss Slowbro.
