Good morning!
Joe, glad to hear you made a connection to make a friend.
Nothing much happening here. I kept waking up but seemed to fall back asleep easily last night and my alarm got me up. I'm working tomorrow and didn't want to sleep in too late but will have to accept losing an hour of sleep and being tired tomorrow. No way I'm going to be able to go to sleep at 8:45 an hour earlier.
Have a great day!
Good morning all!
Joe, baking sounds good on a rainy day. How is your dad doing these days? Good you will meet up with a new friend.
Tweety, ugh, DST! Booooooo!
I am up with a purpose today (as opposed to randomly getting up and doing whatever), I need to get ready to attend a memorial service for a former co-worker. It will be good to see what other former workers show up but, as at family functions, it seems we only get together at funerals or memorial services. It's sad.
I have no other plans for today. Dh elects to stay home. He will keep charge of the cats and the little dog.
Y'all have a good day!
60 degrees and rainy.
Had to wash my hair and wrangle with it....SiL cut my hair for me 2 days ago, and although she is a hairdresser, I have to say, I do better cutting my hair than she does....I just can't get the back as well as I used to. Oh well, hair grows, and by this time next week it will be fine. And at least it is no longer dragging my face down.
I have to get Nannie up and then go out to the grocery store for the things I always run out of first; milk, cranapple juice, Nannie's yogurts, dried pineapple, and coffee.
Ado, I know what you mean about feeling bored. Although I don't exactly feel lonely, I do miss having someone to talk to; I always run across stuff I'd like to tell hubby, but he isn't here any longer, soooo. It is kinda like going to put your elbow on the table and missing the table, if you know what I mean. I still would really appreciate having my time to myself, quiet and uninterrupted. "Conversation" with Nannie is not a thing because those purple shoes and her fingernail polish color are all she thinks about these days, along with the questions like where are her mother or father. She also sometimes thinks she should be up and doing something, but I tell her she is retired, and isn't expected to do the things she used to do. I don't tell her that all she 'does' is sit in her recliner all day!
Welp, regardless of how I feel about it, it is time to get Nannie up.
Good thing y'all mentioned about DST; I will have to put a few sticky-notes out for me to be reminded about turning the clocks ahead. I usually do that just at bedtime, and there are many hours between now and then, during which I am likely to forget!
Thank the Lord Nannie's bed wasn't wet, she kept her butt on the underpaid all night! I did have to change all her clothes, but as long as I give her colors that 'match' she's a happy camper.I do have laundry to do, but not having to change her bed makes things a lot easier on me.
I did remember to turn the dehumidifier on, just in case that corner of the den decides to leak.
Okay, going to go to the store now, before shift-change time starts. At least I won;t have to deal with school busses!
50 degrees and windy here, gusts up to 40 mph. ugh. Part of my morning jog was pushing into the wind, huff, huff. I made a good decision not to take the path that has tall trees on either side. All of the bloody spruce cones I picked up out of the yard and drive way have reappeared. I worry that dh will step on one, it will roll under his foot and he will fall.
We went out to eat last night, youngest ds's treat. I had street tacos that were yummy, and a beer. And then straight to bed. But I woke up and couldn't sleep, tossed and turned. Pillow felt wrinkled , sheets were rough, joints ached, too hot, too cold. Argh. dh has gone to his gardening club meeting. I thought about going, but I think it's good for us to have separate activities.
dh always takes care of resetting the clocks, except for the cars. I depend on my phone to tell me the time. It's really useful when traveling across time zones.
I really dislike funerals/memorial services. I like seeing old acquaintances, but not that way.
Stars, hopefully you set forward like you mentioned in your first post and not back like you said in your second. 🙂
J22, hope you keep power.
I haven't been to a funeral/memorial service in a long time. Last was maybe 20 years ago when a friend died of some sort of aggressive leukemia. He was in his early 40's. It was really sad. It was also awkward because I knew his surviving spouse (no gay married then though) was having an affair with another good friend of mine who was friends with them both. My friend was in love with the guy whose spouse died but the guy rejected him after his spouse died and moved somewhere far away. My friend eventually met and had a good relationship with another man but died in a car accident. We had lost touch but because of lack of gay marriage his family took the body to Virginia and had their own service away from his spouse and took their house.
My phone remembered to switch times and I'm up for work. Bleh

Dianah thanks for sharing more photos with us. That pizza sounds interesting
NJ22 I think I'm winning against the ants, I tried several new ant traps and the newer ones seem to be doing the job
Stars can definitely understand feeling stuck, caregiving takes a lot out of you
Ado hope your symptoms continue to ease and you don't have to go in today
Work was again pretty good yesterday, as I had predicted. After work got the mushrooms heated to take to the potluck
Was a bit different, as was held in a local greenhouse instead of someone's home. Smaller crowd than usual, although I did get to meet some new people.
Was texting with that guy from the dating app, we'll get together as friends this month, probably in about 2 weeks. He's not boyfriend material but is nice enough and I think we share a fair amount in common
Today will try and go birdwatching, although it is cloudy and cool and it was raining a lot yesterday. Then have lunch with dad and bake some muffins. Svengoolie has the original 13 Ghosts, which I have seen before and is only so-so so I'll skip it
Going to get up to the low 40s today, will be warmer next week
