Tweety I have some relatives I haven't heard from in years, generally they're the ones too far away to attend  reunions

sirI my dad no longer drives that much or that far

Hi Davey, long time no see

Ado that's cool that you do wildlife rehab

Stars hope the tree gets cut and removed soon

Was a fairly good day at work, had time to help coworkers.  After work met J for dinner, was nice as we had missed last week.

Today going back to bird watching, going to bring my camera for the first time in years, along with the binoculars.  Doubtful I'll get any good pics, it's so hard to even find the birds, but I guess we'll see

Dad and his ladyfriend are going to see my nephew in a performance (show choir I think) so I won't be getting together with him for lunch as usual.  Decided to skip this one as I'll be driving to Indiana next weekend to see my niece in a musical.

Svengoolie has a decent movie this time, Dracula's Daughter, which I'll watch.

Will get up to 70 today, though will get rainy and windy in the evening

Well! Woke up this morning to the sound of a chain saw! But, surprisingly, it wasn't the guy who said he'd cut it up for the wood. Apparently that guy and his step-son have gone camping or something, and never said a word to us about cutting up the tree. It's being done by the neighbor who has done our lawn/yard work.

Yesterday, hubby brought two bags of groceries (he culled our cupboards and the fridge) over to that neighbor who'd said he only had two cans of beans left in his kitchen and needed work. Hubby had told him he could clean up our front yard, but here he was this morning with his chain saw, working away. When hubby had brought the food over to the guy's house, he said "Man, I don't know why y'all are so good to me." and he hugged him. Hubby said maybe he was looking to get paid more. I said maybe he was just thankful for the food and wanted to make up for the bags of groceries; and also, btw, hubby had given him the chainsaw, gratis, a month or two ago, because he said he can't use it anymore due to his physical problems. Anyway, he told hubby he couldn't 'clean up the yard' with all those branches and limbs and logs on the ground, and that's why he was sawing it up.

Wonder what the other neighbor is going to think when he comes back from his outing? His wife is at home; maybe she's called and told him already. I hope there's no hard feelings, but how could there be? It's not like he's being cheated out of the wood, and that was the only reason he said he'd do it. We needed it done sooner rather than later. The guy who is cutting the wood started in on the sawing without a word, and he told hubby later that he was just going to stack it. But it has been started, so I, for one, am glad. It's supposed to rain tomorrow, not good weather for working outdoors!

Brief back-story: The neighbor who is currently sawing the wood is kind of the neighborhood pariah, simply because he's done time in a Federal Prison (10-15 yrs)....for what we don't know. But, when he moved here, no one around here would speak to him because of that. Hubby was the only one to do so. The guy is quite religious, and keeps to himself. Always busy working at something. But he is thankful hubby and I acknowledge him as a human being and don't judge him for his past.

Hubby and I have had different folks who've showed up out of the blue and helped pull us out of a hole or six, when we were in need, so what comes around goes around. The Golden Rule and all that. We both felt it in our hearts to help him out, so that's what we've done.

As much as Nannie can be a real P.I.A., we are thankful for a good warm house to live in, in a good, quiet neighborhood; we don't go hungry. If not for being here, we'd be having a VERY difficult time.

Anyway, talk w/ y'all later~

stars - AMEN

Yesterday was my birthday. Didn't get my 'like clockwork' phone call from my cousin. He always rubs it in that my BD precedes his by 2 weeks. Well, he & wife were whacked big life illness issues. I feel like it's Thanksgiving all over again.

Bit my tongue again. This after I burnt my mouth last nite as I finally made a soup. Very good, but cooking tires me terribly.

Ado  - glad the new job seems to be working out. It's early.

Good to see you also, Joe. You hold a special place in my heart because the first cartoon I submitted to allnurses back in'12 was about a problem you were having with your car's door.

Oh, No Stars. As I said in a thread, you are a legend in my mind. INTERESTING neighbor! What a history, religious, and keeps to himself. Makes me wonder if he has not experienced an astounding illuminating revelation due to his trials and tribulations.

And amoLucia. My dear. Best Belated Birthday Wishes to You!

I've been on two e-bike trips today, but this illustration tells what I did with the majority of my day:
