Tweety I had Covid right after Easter

NJ22 homemade shortcake sounds good

Ado I think when my mom was young their home was quarantined for mumps or measles, I forgot which one

Stars glad your DH is better

Dianah that sounds like an interesting book

Was a fairly quiet day at work despite one person being out, which was nice.  Talked to J last night, he was mostly packed.  His flight leaves this afternoon

Today will do bird watching at the Arboretum.  Will have lunch with dad.  Will also  bake blueberry muffins.  Have finished Braiding Sweetgrass and am starting another book I heard about on NPR, My Grandfather's Blessings by Rachel Naomi Remen

Svengoolie has The Deadly Mantis, which is a decent big bug movie.

Will only be in the 70s today,  which is nice for this time of  year

Joe, I had the mumps when I was maybe 4. I remember our neighbor coming to the door and seeing me and saying something to my mother like "oh you do have a sick one". I'm also pretty sure I remember our doctor coming to the house.

Stars, I wish we could get some rain. The pollen count must be high because I'm miserable. Itchy eyes and postnasal drip. When I left work yesterday the sign at the bank said 110. But 30 miles north of us it did rain.

The city had a broken water main (again) so we were without water for a few hours and now need to flush out all the dirty water. Hubs went to the lake and left me and Twin B home with Gma. Darby has some diarrhea (wonder if it could be a side effect of her accidental medication?)

Another night of not sleeping well the first half of my attempt at bedtime. I finally took a xanax .5 mg at I-don't-know-what-time, but I did wake up around 9:30 AM to take Nannie's breakfast downstairs to her, and went back to bed. Then I didn't wake until 1:30 PM! This has GOT TO STOP!

I still feel groggy. I also had to take my anti-lurch medicine. It is weird to say I feel dizzy, when I don't feel dizzy in my head; it's simply a matter of my body having a mind of its own and not being attached to my intent to walk forward. I guess I better do that what-ever-it's-called 'exercise' to reset my inner ear(s).

I have to look it up again, but last night I read a brief article about "brown noise' and how it is so effective at calming, and helpful to go to sleep by. Not white noise; similar, but supposed to be much more pleasant. Will have to give it a try.

It is a miserable 94 hot degrees. Depending on who you listen to, it is supposed to be cooler by ten degrees ...?tomorrow?...or the next day.

Hubby already went to pick up meds at WalMart pharmacy. (I think he is on another med like Lasix only different. I can't keep up.) Once I wake up a little more, I have to go to Food Lion to get some things. He didn't look at the list of what we need, so I get to go for them. w00t?

Ballgame is on this afternoon. I hate to wake up Nannie, but the noise from the TV will bring her back. I think the pregame is at 3:30 PM, but lately we have been skipping most of that because it's just "blah-blah-blah". We turn it on when there are about 15 minutes left until the first pitch. I ?think we won yesterday.

I got up late, 7, which meant running at 830 and it was already hot and muggy. I did get to meet a sweet old French bulldog while there. I toodled around in the garden and then we went to a new plant nursery and got some flowers to replace the dahlias that never came up. And now, I think I’ll take a nap. There is a concert in the park and food trucks so that’s our plan for tonight.
I remember having mumps at the same time as my sisters and it was painful. I had German measles too. My mom made me stay in a dark room but I think that was recommended for regular measles. Anyway, I was stuck in a dark room, no tv and too dark to read. Boring!

A Hello Fresh box came today so we had mango pork tacos. Hubs and I went to Wal-Mart. Our big night on the town ? Hubs had found my parents' ice cream maker (an electric one) and I thought we'd make ice cream. But the canister is quite rusty and he has talked me out of trying to clean it up and use it.

My sister (2 yrs older'n'me) had mumps one Halloween and could not go trick or treating with us. I felt so sorry for her.

Well, hubby and Nannie had a couple of LOUD arguments again, this evening. I had to yank my hearing aids out twice!!  Then I just kept my mouth shut.

Later, out on the front porch he started complaining to me why he got so mad at her and how she's had a real attitude for the last week or so. I Mm-hmm'ED mildly, about half a dozen times and then changed the subject.

He had at least one sheet flying in the wind (ie he was not "3-sheets-to-the- wind.") and that's about when he loses it w/ Nannie. He said he didn't have the ability like I did, to be calm and low-key with her. Just yeeeeeerrrrrzzzzzz of practice with hundreds of old people; I just get in the mode and do it. But she sure as shootin' sure does get on my last nerve MANY a time, as we ALL know!

"Tomorrow"--------------the saying goes, "iz a nutha day!"

Joe, don't remember that you had covid.  At this point probably about 50% or  of the people I know have had covid.

I never had the mumps.  In fact I was such a healthy kid I think 9 out of 12 years I had perfect attendance.  12th grade was because I started skipping school.  But I remember I had five years perfect attendance in a row at one point.  I even saved one of the certificates for some reason.  Weird because I was so bullied for being a sissyboy you'd thought I'd be more sickly or fake it more to avoid being bullied, but I was so stoic about it I had no feelings inside.

Similar situation these days at work.  Last time I called off was when bestie broke his hip. I usually go a year or two before I need a mental health day.

Last day orienting an experienced nurse and she's working Sunday on her own.  She's so slow and I just don't think is going to handle 6:1 well.  I'm dreading Sunday because it's just her and I as someone is on vacation.

Saturday the two of us had a rough day. Administration watches us like a hawk and the minute one leaves they give us another.  It's asking too much of a person starting with 6:1.  grumble grumble grumble.
