NJ22 yes this is the same recipe,  like it because it can rest in the fridge for up to a week after the first rise

Stars that's great that you were finally able to talk to Social Security and get things straightened out

Ado that is a tricky question, how much care do you provide for a pet that is elderly and declining.  Hope she does respond to the treatment

Tried to go bird watching yesterday morning but the trails were wet and icy and flooded in parts.  So yesterday was a baking day for me.  Got the bread done, and the herbed  butter to go with it, for the potluck today.  And made the frosting for the cake for the church's annual meeting tomorrow.  Exercised and spent part of the evening online with tech support, as my email and a social app wasn't working.  They said they were working on the email problem and would send a tech out Mon as there is a line issue too.  Thankfully everything else seems fine

Today all the tech issues seem resolved, thankfully.  Since I did all the baking I may give bird watching another shot although it's unlikely conditions improved enough from yesterday.  Have lunch with dad then the potluck with the gay group this afternoon (oddly they're not doing it on Friday like they usually do).  Will skip Svengoolie tonight, the movie seems dull, will watch opera instead

Should be another foggy cloudy day in the 40s although the rain should hold off at least

Propane use is dodgy at these temperatures, maybe we will bake something in the air fryer.

Stay warm

tmb~ 'Lord love a duck', as the saying goes. Geeze, -40? AUGH!  We are merely at 61 degrees. Kudos to you for keeping your thermostat at 68! Our thermostat is set on 70 degrees, and our weather is practically beach weather compared to your temp. And depending on which column you read on the page for our weather report, there will be either 71% or 81% chance of precipitation. Right now the puny sunshine is battling the cloud overcast.

The den is chilly according to Nannie, so I have turned on the electric fireplace and put the ceiling fan on low to bring the hot air down to seating level. This sounds so silly to say, in view of tmb's well-below freezing temp! But, we don't live so far North, and I've gotta say I'm sure GLAD of that!

I slept well; woke up at 10 AM and took my meds, fed the dog her breakfast, and then WENT BACK TO BED!! ? Woke up again at noon. Feel much beddah now for having done that. And the gypsies are dwindling away.

No laundry to do today; a minor miracle. There are the usual juice glasses and spoons and dog-food dishes to wash, but that can easily be taken care of in only a few minutes. If Nannie slides off into her post-breakfast nap, maybe I will go back upstairs and finally piddle around with the junk piled up in the 'old' bedroom ... BUT, ya never know with me!

Found a pair of light blue denim jeans I kind of 'lost' in the hub-bub in the old bedroom. I purchased them when I had shrunk down to size 14, but hadn't worn them until today. And though I have not lost any more weight, my body composition must've shifted because they are very slightly LOOSE on me. Huh. Not planning on shrinking down to a size 12, but it is what it is.....and at least I'm not a size 18-20 any more! I hope not to see those sizes on any of my clothes ever again!

Going to read the news feeds on-line while I wait for Nannie to get deeper into her drowsing. More likely than not, I will be back by here later.

Hello all!

tmb, that is SOME COLD!  Stay warm!

Joe, I came upon a PBS opera program, presenting what seemed to be a modernized opera version of Hamlet.  It was in English, but I still used the sub-titles.  Perhaps because I didn't tune in from the beginning but came in as the program was underway, it seemed manic -- the musical arrangement, etc.  I didn't watch long, as it didn't hold my interest (the manic flavor was off-putting).  Then I had to look up Hamlet.  I would probably enjoy the stage play better.  Bless their hearts for the attempt, however, and I'm sure some ppl liked it!  What opera will you be seeing tonight?  The bread and herbed butter sound good!

No Stars, congrats on the weight loss, and on re-finding the pair of pants that fit!  That's always cause for joy!  I hope today goes smoothly, no Nannie drama.  And what a relief to get the SS "stuff" arranged!  Talk about perseverance!!  Good on ya!

I made the lentil soup yesterday, which turned out more like a stew.  Neither of us minded, it was still tasty!  I didn't have any canned tomatoes or fresh tomatoes, but I found some sun-dried tomatoes and threw them in.

Monday I will take oldest ds to get some labs drawn.  Looking forward to seeing him.  With his work hours and his gaming and his schedule with his friends, he stays busy.

Our weather has been clear for a few days, temps in the low 70's.  There is a dusting of snow on the mountains.  Rain is forecast, starting Wednesday and lasting about a week, on and off.  We'll see what happens.

Have a good day, and a good evening!

Was that your grill only getting up to 67, TMB? -40 is unimaginably (for me) cold.

Joe, fresh bread with herbed butter does indeed sound really good.

I've worn out the charging port on my phone. We have one charging cord that can be coaxed into the right position and then left alone to charge. So I'm having a hard time keeping up.

I think we are going to see the sun again starting tomorrow or Monday. My book club is meeting tomorrow night. I'm trying to finish up a hardback book borrowed from one of the members so I can return it. No big deal if it has to wait until next meeting.

Darby has had some diarrhea today. I was (and am) a little worried that the new meds would cause some loose stools.

67 is the temp in the main room of the cabin. NEB is currently watching golf with fleece pants, hoodie, wool socks and an electric lap blanket.  @Ado Annie

Ado, perhaps get another couple charging cords?  It would be a challenge to keep up with all the charging with only one cord, and a wonky one at that!  Hope Darby's diarrhea eases up, poor thing.  What book are you currently reading?

Dull, quiet day. Didn't even step into the old room to start in on that mess. Did some dishes and heated up a supper for Nannie, I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat, but at least I have eaten an apple. It is sooooo close to Nannie's bedtime.....yippee! We have been watching the whining people on House Hunter's disagreeing about what they want in a house and property. If I have to listen to this wife complain that "It's not on the water," I will scream. Won't have to scream, though as the show is over! Thank goodness!

It's Sunday afternoon.  Another road trip to the city of the Taj Mahal about five hours plus some stops.  It's a great trip.

There's a guy from Alaska on the tour with us.  In the 50 degree mornings he's in shorts and a tee shirt and I'm really coldnon a heavy jacket.

I keep my house at 72 to 74.

It still says "loading" from my attempt a few days ago.  I won't be waiting for it to load.
