Tweety since I used to work night shift we usually didn't have secretaries

Ado no, this is the aunt I haven't seen in 2-3 years because she became a paranoid shut-in.  The one I visit downstate is still doing fine

Stars that sounds like some more advanced stage of dementia, if she's having some sort of delusion or hallucination

NJ22 it is indeed a lot of responsibility.  Glad to have participated in some important decisions, but will be glad to be done with it

There was some craziness at work but I'm doing better at not getting frustrated or upset by it.  Which I find makes me more flexible in dealing with things.  Wasn't too busy overall

Stomach was acting up again, not sure why.  If it continues I'll tell the doc at the  next appointment.  IBS tends to run in my family

Got the word yesterday afternoon from my cousin that my aunt has passed away.  There is going to be some sort of service in March.   It's sad for my cousins but in a sense it will be a relief, dealing with her increasing paranoia had been quite difficult on them

Today will be fairly ordinary.  Will do bird watching if it's not too cold.  Will also bake muffins and have lunch with dad.  Svengoolie has The Kiss of the Vampire which I've not seen before

Colder day today, in the low 30s

Good Afternoon (so far)~

I stayed up late reading and got up late. In the morning (8:45 AM), hubby came into my room and was rustling through my purse, "looking for your car keys". Later this afternoon I was outside on the front porch drinking coffee, and one of the neighbors across the street came over to sit and chat for a minute. I noticed he crossed the front yard where hubby couldn't see him from the Ford, where he was sitting. The neighbor said he saw hubby go out in my car, early this morning and came back with a big bottle of vodka. Then he  sat out there drinking. He also took out the Ford, I guess to fill the rear tire that was nearly flat? I dunno. He has come down to the den and he and Nannie are doin' the doze-thing. Such a fascinating household.

Welp, once again I am the Laundress, with 3 loads to do. I cleaned part of the crappy floor in the kitchen last night, using a Mr Clean product where you can spray and wipe to get rid of the dirt....it worked pretty well. Hubby said it would work better with a mop. I thought, "Yeah, and WHO would be wielding the mop, pray tell?" Nope, spray and wipe off with some dry paper towels, no sweat. Of course it could use a good mopping, but I'm not up for that right now; just wanted to get up the sticky spills. Hard to believe that this man was such a stickler for a clean house when we lived up in Asheville, and now...? HAH!

Anyway, same-old-same-old.

Caio, you'n's !

My cousin who lives nearby stopped by for a visit today. I don't see her often and it was nice. Even though I'm embarrassed by the house.

The "new" cousin from Ancestry DNA heard from his father who said he would call him on Monday.

Slept late so have accomplished very little. The boys are going to a party this evening that is a pot luck so I helped them make cookies to take. Twin B then has to work 11-7.

Cold and wet day. I've been doing laundry and watching Netflix. I was going to clean my bedroom, but dh stayed home despite his plan to go to the farmers market, and is asleep on our bed. Humph. Youngest son is going to make spaghetti for dinner.

I tend to just clean spots of the kitchen floor with some windex and paper towels LOL, usually the spills by the fridge and stove. Our flooring laminate looks like travertine, so spills don't really show.

I had a couple of interesting phone calls with the nurse at the cardiology office yesterday. I told them I didn't need to have my pacer interrogated remotely only 5 days after having it done in the office. And get charged $100 for it.  She tried to tell me I didn't have any choice, because it was automatic. Hah! She couldn't give me a good reason other than it was their policy. I told her then my transmitter (it sends the signal) wouldn't be plugged in next week then. Then she tried to tell me it had to be plugged in at all times, because it was the policy. I told her I would discuss it with the doctor at my next appointment, and that I expected to be included about decisions about my plan of care.  Lo and behold, she called me back to say the next interrogation would be in 3 months. This is the second time she has seemingly just invented information.  I like the doctor, but I swear some of the staff are a little unprofessional.

Mr. Stars is not going to like it if he gets a DUI. That's all I have to say.

Good evening.

Worked today and while busy it settled down in the afternoon.  OR just showed up to pick up my patient for surgery that was scheduled at 10AM at 7:45.  "Oh she's been bumped up".  Me:  Do you think giving me a heads up so I can get her ready would have been appropriate?  I made the transporter wait.

It's the little inconsiderate stuff that bugs me about my job lately.  As I was leaving they were making the staff transfer two patients to another floor so they could pull a nurse.  I wasn't in charge so I just walked right on by that drama.

Hello all.  Have read through the posts.  No Stars, SMH at Mr. Stars' antics.  Brain affected by ETOH.  ((((((((((((( No Stars ))))))))))))) Laundry needs to be done here as well.    Ado, good of you to help bake cookies.  I hear ya about the state of the house.  My housekeeping is more like "there appears to have been a struggle."   Tweety, "walk on by!"  (Dionne Warwick, 1964) Hope you can get some good rest tonight.   nursej22, honestly, good you stood your ground and shame on the nurse for not using her God-given brain and towing only the company line.  Joe, hope the stomach troubles ease up.  I wonder, yes, if it is the beginnings of IBS??

We just got home from our program at the branch museum, in the high desert.  At least it wasn't raining; I think the good weather contributed to a good turnout.  It was THEIR turn at Old West Days, and they had some very interesting displays, and some demonstrations of card games (faro and poker tables set up, with costumed dealers), and some intriguing exhibits of fossils and area history.  We were situated, as before, near the childrens' activity areas.  AND, our fiddler was able to join us, which added so much to the music!  We had very nice listeners, and they even requested a few songs, which we were able to do.  Afterwards we enjoyed a band meal: a relaxing Vietnamese meal, and the drive home was uneventful.  Our next music scheduled is 2/18 for a memorial service, then 2/25 and onward, a weekend jam session, followed by Bluegrass on the Beach, in Lake Havasu City.

With cold temps out (48 is cold for us!), it is nice to be home (not traveling) and warm!

Have a good evening!
