Ado, that is a hard decision to make, I know, even if you know the time has come, and even if you know their suffering will end

Stars I'm glad the doctor is so supportive. The new senior center seems a good resource

Tweety glad your friend continues to have mild symptoms

NJ22 glad that he's starting to feel better

Work wasn't bad yesterday, despite some unexpected stuff and a new case.  I think I am adapting to this new system, hopefully things stay manageable

The potluck last night was nice, was at a huge house that is considered a national landmark.  Big crowd too, got to talk to a bunch of people I don't think I'd met before.  Tired when I came home though

Today I changed my April vacation date, as I don't want to miss the potluck that month.  Will do some bird watching then will meet dad for lunch and finish the bread recipe.  Svengoolie has The Monster that Challenged the World, which I will take a look at

Will be cooler today, in the mid 40s

Good morning!

Joe, glad the potluck went well.  Hope you have a good day.

I was up tossing and turning and decided to get up and it was 4AM.  Ugh.....I did some cleaning and surfed the internet for a couple of hours and went back to bed.  Now I slept through my yoga class and feel drained.  How I can we wide awake on a few hours sleep and then be drained now at nearly noon is a mystery.

Another mystery is after I vacuumed with my new cleaner yesterday, there's a round filter part that is missing.  I specifically remember taking it out to empty the vacuum cleaner and it disappeared from the face of the earth.

I really get on my nerves.

Best friend tested positive for covid again so at least it seals in his mind that he has covid.  He said he'll test again in 48 hours.   He's feeling good and going about his business as usual.

It's a nice day here in the 70's.

Good twelve noon, folks!

I woke up an hour ago and have been lounging in bed. The across-the-street-good- neighbor just delivered me a big, beautiful bouquet of Valentine Day flowers! Very pretty arrangement. Nice surprise!

I might as well get up and go downstairs to get Nannie up. Do you know, she ARGUED with me last night that it wasn't bedtime at 10 o'clock, because she just got out of bed a little while ago.. She barely remembered she went to the doctor's, and she didn't remember going out to eat supper. I had to open the drapes to show her it was night-time, and not 10 in the morning. She was pouting and disagreeable, clamped her lips together and frowned. But, I did get her in bed. Whew! She hasn't bowed-up on me like that before, but I prevailed. I hope she is in a better frame of "mind" today!

It is supposed to get up to 70 degrees today! Wonder if we will have a honking big Winter storm in March? Who knows. Weather gets weirder by the day.

Okay, time to do like I said and go get the Nannie-person up. Yippee. (not).

Annie, I am so sorry for your loss, and the grief that you and your family are feeling.

SiL came over, but she said she was planning on gutting the Christmas decoration closets on another day. She went out shopping, and got Nannie two pair of Sketchers (One tan and one purple), a blouse and two tops to go over blouses or turtlenecks. And she got ME a jersey that was on clearance, because she knows one of my favorite colors is navy blue. Plus she brought over some home-made vegetable soup for our supper!

I've got to say it blows me away the way SiL shops for this and that all the time! I know she works (part-time now) at the ABC store and she does hair, also, so she does have the bucks, but she is all the time shopping on line, and at the Mall. Supper for the four of us last night was around $60, which for me would be tooooo much. I remember having 'disposable income' once upon a time. *sigh*

Oh, the best thing that SiL did was to ask Nannie if she was planning on reading her (massive number of) paperback romance novels again. She had them stacked on top of a metal rack in her bedroom. Nannie said she wasn't going to read them again. She had told me once that we should have a yardsale and sell those books at some ridiculous price, because she got them from a bookclub where she'd paid X#$ for 4 books at a time, and she though $6 for 4 books would be a good price in a yard sale and she was going to clean up financially from them.. Yuh! She shared them with a friend, but made sure she got them all back. I told SiL I was dying to get rid of those books, but Nannie thinks they are worth something. So SiL asked if Nannie minded if she borrowed a bunch of them to read, and Nannie said, sweet as honey, "Well, of course you can take them to read!" SiL took out two garbage sacks full of those books, promising so sincerely that she would read every one of them. WOW! Nope, they are going to be donated somewhere. Nannie will never remember them after a while.

I have to nosh because I can't wait 2-3 hours until supper. See yez laydah!

Thank you all for the kind words. It was a sad night.

This morning Dory woke me. Hubs said she had been outside and she had food and water. We wondered if she's looking for Darby.

Then I got a call from the hospital that there were 6 soon to be 7 patients and one nurse (with an aide) so I came in and we have discharged 3. The other nurse hasn't said it would be OK for me to leave so here I am. I don't mind too much since the alternative is to be there with Gma. The boys will be playing video games or doing homework or sleeping (Twin B works tonight). Some time when I was awake in the middle of the night I swear I heard Gma say in her sleep, "You're a sh1t@ss." Which she said several times to Hubs in the evening. And apparently to the poor hospice aide who came to bathe her yesterday.

Hello all!

Ado, it does seem logical that Dory could be looking for Darby...  it's so sad, as we can't explain to them what happened, and why it was necessary to make the decision, etc.  I'm sure they miss each other.  Hugs to you.  Hope Gma settles down.

No Stars, good that SiL is taking out the paperbacks.  And that you are getting some respite/help!

We watched Zoom Sabbath School, then ate and watched a couple The Chosen episodes, which we enjoy re-watching.  I just got back from a walk with my friend S, who was nearby visiting relatives who live down the street.   Dh is just finishing the online jam session.

Dh figured out how to "cast" to our TV from his computer, and at various times recently we have been watching the eagle cam, trained on the two eagles at Big Bear Lake.  They switch off egg-sitting duties, after three eggs were recently laid!  The view from the nest is beautiful, and we can hear the wind gusting through the trees, and when the eagles turn the eggs, it sounds like bocce balls tapping each other!  It is very interesting to watch the eagles trade egg duty, and call to each other, etc.  Guess we are getting old, and soon we will enjoy watching water boil or grass grow...  LOL!

Enjoy your evening!
