Gouda Aphternooon!
Yes, the sun is soooo bright! It is about 70 degrees; we did NOT get a heck of a lot of rain or a big storm last night.
Right now the birds and squirrels are flocking around the back door and look disappointed because there isn't much out there for them to eat. Guess I'll go out and sweep up the mess they've made on the patio, and then refill........
^This ^post^ was written maybe 3-4 hours ago~ I had forgotten to click on submit reply. But I can't finish it now because hubby is on his way in with our supper. So I will post this now and maybe come back by later on.
Dianah, I am so very sorry for loss. I hope your ds does accompany you. I hope the weather is cooperative with your travel. Is this the sister you went to France with?
I had a nice run this morning despite the few flakes of snow. I saw my first redwing blackbird of the season, I heard him first, with his distinctive call. I took eldest ds out for breakfast, more or less to put DIL's mind at ease while she was out on her run. I think she was nervous that he would overdo. It seems that his procedure went well. I will be undergoing a similar procedure at the end of the month, so I grilled him for details.
I am now at the ice arena waiting for grandsons hockey game, and for my girls out cookie delivery.
My parents made things very easy for us as far as all the schtuff to deal with when they died. Nevertheless, Dads retirement fund still has about $1000 that I can get if I can get a bank account for his "estate". We had one for the trust that they had set up but it's closed. It would be easier if I banked at the local bank instead of the credit union because the credit union can't set one up for a deceased person. Voya can only issue a check to his estate.
Gma's usual self made a brief appearance the other night. She was still sitting at the table with some food on her plate when I started clearing the table. I picked up the bowl of salad. "That'S MY food". I told her that her food was on the plate. I picked up another bowl. "You just take everything. You're a sh!ta$$". I hadn't heard that word in 2-3 weeks!
I'm really sore today all down my spine. Must be the yoga. Twin A and I did some grocery shopping, put gas in the car. I'm washing some clothes for Twin B to wear to work tonight. I want to try to make it easier for him to work 10 of the next 12 nights. We made tacos for dinner. I used a carb balance tortilla for mine. No one else was willing to try it. I thought it was just fine.
G'day.
Work was okay. I'm not that OCD worker, but my coworkers are getting a bit lazy. No rooms had incentive spirometers, one IV filtrated ("it keep beeping so I just shut it off".), SCDs not on, admissions not being finished, just a bunch of little stuff.
Stars, his daughter has zero claim on anything that belongs to him as you are his legal wife. It will get tricky with the sibling and just because he's done nothing for her, legally he has some footing and a legal child, unless he's cut out of the will, or her property is in your husband's name alone. If not, it's might be too late with her dementia diagnosis and you would indeed have to enlist a lawyer.
I'm so thankful my sister is taking care of my parents, she can have the house and everything if she wants. The will says to split three ways. My brother and I wouldn't dream of selling the house if she needs it for herself.
Nursej22, I went to France with my sister-in-law, who is married to dh's brother. This sister who passed is the oldest of our four siblings. I am second-oldest. The two younger brothers have already passed. She was a take-charge person, didn't mince any words. When we were kids, we called her Bossy The Cow, cuz she bossed everyone! We laughed about that nickname, in later years.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and words.
Tweety, Hubby's sibling IS in the will.....he gets 1/2 of 1% of the value of the house, if we want to sell it, or "buy out" his part of the house. (I believe that covers the front cement walk and 6 or 7 bricks of the foundation. ?) He said he doesn't give a *&$*$h!!t*, he is not going to accept that 1/2 of 1%, so, I guess, we can't sell it? Too bad. I really don't feel like moving again, anyway.
Considering how little sibling is helping then one half of 1% sounds about right. Good thing it's spelled out and sounds like he's aware of it. Let him be bitter but if it's in the will end of discussion. Hopefully it doesn't get ugly.
I'm still reminded about gay people together for years had relatives swoop in and take everything even after they disowned their gay child. This happened to a friend of mine before gay marriage. He suddenly died in a crash and his parents took everything and his longtime partner had to start from zero. Another had some unknown nephew take everything.

Dianah I am sorry to hear about your sister, losing a family member is hard enough without having to deal with all of the other stuff. I'm glad you have some answers with your cat
Tweety I had that same issue with trying to do get together with neighbors, did all the work but few seemed interested
Stars that seems a reasonable precaution, given how his family might react
NJ22 I hope he feels better after the ablation
Ado I don't think I've heard of anyone growing vanilla before
Work wasn't too bad yesterday, though again I got another new file right before leaving. Hope the pace slows down soon
The predicted Winter storm never materialized, we didn't even get any rain
I spent the evening doing some cleaning. Want to make sure the place is ready for guests once I'm ready to start having people over. Have been checking Meetup, not as much there as I had expected but did find a few group/events of interest. Took my usual hot bath, this time with bath salts which was nice. Made a grasshopper, which I didn't like as much as the usual white Russian
Noted that the zinnias I planted seem to be sprouting. Decided to only plant 1 per pot so they won't be crowded
Today will be quieter, as dad is away viewing a show choir competition my nephew is in. Will get outside this morning after getting coffee. Not sure what else I will do, might start on taxes after doing laundry
Svengoolie has The Curse of the Werewolf, which is pretty decent though a bit slow
