Good morning.
Just in from hot yoga. Very humid today but felt good.
When I was in therapy they said I had a lot of visits on my plan. There was a $40 co-pay each visit though. He was a LMHC and not a psychologist. The NP there that could help me with meds didn't take my insurance. But my medical doctor takes care of it even though he encouraged me to find someone in mental health take care of it. "You wouldn't take your car to a refrigerator repair person would you?". I guess he had a low opinion of medical doctors and he definitely didn't like that I was on a benzo at the time, but it was a highly anxious time for me. Not sure what my current carrier does.
Best friend is making dinner. One of his neighbors gave him some vegan meatballs. We're going to the theater after dinner.
Have a great day.
Hello all!
Tweety, enjoy your dinner with BF and the theater afterwards! What will you see?
Joe, coffee cake sounds good! Good your work day settled down in the afternoon. That Svengoolie movie sounds interesting!
Yesterday we drove to E's studio in the high desert, with fiddler K and with P (it's her project). Dh and I really weren't needed, and we didn't bring any instruments. But it was enjoyable to watch as K worked through the 10 songs and added her fiddle licks and chucks. We had a great time telling stories, both in the studio and when we took a dinner break. Then returned to the studio after dinner, for about an hour more of "laying down tracks," and then more story-sharing. We left for home around 10pm!! Got home at 11, then P and K had to drive another 40 min to their homes.
Needless to say, I slept heavily last night! Today should be quiet. Time to turn on Zoom Sabbath School!
Have a good day!
As usual, my 'morning' started at 1 PM, because my 'night' lasted until 2:30 AM. Aching back and hips required application of Thera-heat-wraps and took my 'AM' meds, and now I am awaiting some relief from them. I really just wanted to go back to bed and sleep some more, but I had to get Nannie up and dressed. Since it is late-ish, (2PM), I just gave her yogurt and her meds, and now she is doing her siesta thing, and hubby just came inside to also lean back in his recliner, and close his eyes. (I don't mind all this excitement?!)
Joe, Killer Klowns From Outer Space? I may have to tune in on that for a few minutes to see what Killer Klowns From Outer Space LOOK like; I can't even imagine! // When you mention White Russians, it reminds me of the time I was in college and got very, VERY sick from too many White Russians! It was the most dreadful several hours I ever spent, and I've never had another since then!
Tweety, My therapist was a psychologist, but she didn't prescribe medicines, my primary doc in Asheville did that. What I am on now is still very helpful, though for a while my Paxil was bumped up from 40 mg to 50 mg qd, per my request. But I cut it back down to 40 mg later, as the additional 10 mg didn't seem to make much difference after a while.
dianah, I got to hang out in a recording studio once...and even sang back up on a song. I have, somewhere, some 45's of the recording. Don't think the recording ever went anywhere, but it was fun. I think the guy who wrote and performed it passed away some years ago.
Looking, one of these days, to tear apart my closet (such as it is) and toss some stuff, and donate a lot more to a Women's Shelter Thrift Shop. Want to re-arrange some small pieces of furniture, and/or find a decent bureau, but not an expensive one, so I can put stuff in drawers instead of stacking the folded clothes on something (the floor, a shelf, the bed). S'tough having the smallest room! (but it's all mine!)
Since I have lost some weight, now I have to go try on upper 'undergarments' to see what size I am currently. I HATE to shop for bras, and also for shoes, but both are necessary, and if you don't try them on first you end up returning them for one reason or another.
We have been watching "Dr G" perform autopsies every night from 7 to 8 PM, because it is different from the detective shows we have been watching. After a while you think you've seen. every. single. one. of the detective shows. (....young father found shot in his vehicle, mother killed in broad-daylight, homeless person found dead on the side of a road, drug deals gone bad, kids caught in a drive-by shooting, and who was it that knocked off grandma or grandpa for their money?....) Anyway, Dr G is a very thorough pathologist and explains everything well; it is quite interesting and informative.
Gee, I wonder what suppertime will bring? I actually don't want to wonder, but I know by 4:30PM it will be THE question. I'd just like to wait until I feel hungry and then figure out what I want to prepare or drive out to get. Meh.
Guess I'm done here for now....Have a gouda evening, all of you'en's!
Dianah sounds like a fun day doing what you enjoy...music and gab. ?
Stars, hope you're feeling better.
Every few years my closets and junk draws need a good cleaning and throwing out of stuff, but too lazy right now, but it's due.
We're seeing a play called "The Agitators". They sent out a half price sale so it caught frugal BF's attention. We probably wouldn't have gone. George says there were a lot of tickets so they probably sent out the sale because it wasn't doing to well.
I've also read not-for-profit theaters are struggling and never returned to pre-pandemic levels. I think a lot of it is inflation taking a bite out of people's spendable income.

The Agitators
by Mat Smart
The Agitators tells of the enduring but tempestuous friendship of Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass. Great allies? Yes. And at times, great adversaries. Young abolitionists when they met in Rochester in the 1840s, they were full of hopes, dreams, and a common purpose. As they grew to become the cultural icons we know today, their movements collided and their friendship was severely tested. This is the story of that forty-five-year friendship – from its beginning in Rochester, through a civil war, and to the highest halls of government. They agitated the nation, they agitated each other, and, in doing so, they helped shape the Constitution and the course of American history.
Hi. Gray and overcast here. again. It almost feels like it could snow, but my phone says it's 45. Brr, I just can't get warm. I had a great run this morning, 4 miles at my turtle speed. I picked up take-out last night that calls itself Cajun food. I got the chicken basket, dh and ds shared the seafood platter. It was just okay. I finished the taxes, and we'll have to pay. I thought when we took money out of the retirement account they withheld for taxes, but they did not. oh well, gotta pay for those fancy planes to shoot down balloons.
Dianah, that sounds like a fun, but long day.
Isn't the Killer Clown movie some sort of cult movie? I don't think I've ever actually seen it.
I gave up on trying to get therapy a few years ago. There are very few that take new patients in our area, and most of them either focus on LGBTQ or religion. I did some remote visits with one person, who told me she couldn't help me and recommended some other woo woo therapist who apparently uses magnets. No thanks. And I won't do meds due to past unpleasant side effects.
dh is leaving soon to pick up a picture he had framed and he's going to pickup some premade salads for dinner. I have my eye on some stuff to sneak to the garbage can while he's out, heh heh.
Tweety, sounds like an interesting production. Could go either way, actually. ? Hope it was good!
Well, we had SUCH an exciting day today!! LOL! After Zoom Sabbath School, we heated up leftovers and watched The Chosen, Season 3, starting with the first episode (again). I got SOOOOOOOO sleepy during it! So when it was done, I lay down and slept for an hour. Dh is busy with the online jam right now.
We got an invite for the band to play at a festival in August. It was nice to receive an invitation to play there. We discussed it yesterday with the band and decided we will accept. Now we have to practice, LOL!
My friend P (with the great country voice, whose project we are helping with) talked about doing a "photo shoot. " Needs an old barn or a field of poppies, or both. Probably will do this in the next couple months, as that's when the poppies will be out (especially with all the rain we've had). Should be fun, and she can use one of the photos on her CD. ? Her main focus was just doing a CD to give to friends and family, not for marketing. So it's nice a low-key (but E still does a great job, and makes everything sound so good!).
Will probably do a couple loads of laundry tonight. Have no plans for tomorrow.
No Stars, whenever we watch a murder mystery series (Father Brown, or Death in Paradise, for example), after a few episodes dh will invariably remark, "there are a LOT of murders in that little town!!" ?
Oh yes: yesterday at the diner we went to yesterday, I ordered from the Senior menu, a grilled salmon. Dh asked the server, "she ordered the senior salmon. Tell me, how do they know how OLD the salmon is, to be called 'senior'???"
Have a good evening!
We went to sailing school again today. It was good.
Gma is muttering. "They don't care. They're a bunch of s*******s." (her favorite word). And "He's going to kill me. He's going to make sure I'm dead." Oy.
The guys wanted to watch a movie tonight so we started watching Pacific Rim. Not really my kind of movie but I like to hang out with my family. But Twin B has to go to work so we're having a looong intermission. There's a chili cook-off tomorrow after church so I'm encouraging Hubs to makes a pot of chili. And I'm doing Jiffy cornbread again. And a pan of brownies if I don't run out of steam.
I got pretty hard-hearted with stuff in my closet a few months ago but should do it again. And insist that Hubs do it.

Stars I see red bellied woodpeckers around here too. Letting go is a wise course of action
NJ22 I periodically toss older stuff I don't use, probably need to do that again
Tweety hope the next shift is slower
Work was rather crazy initially, but I didn't get too stressed and waited and by the afternoon things had slowed down
After work ran an errand then did the usual hot bath and white Russian. Was a little tired last night, maybe due to a busy week
Today after getting coffee will bake some coffee cake for church tomorrow and do laundry. Rest of the day should be ordinary, lunch with dad, exercise, and Svengoolie, who has Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Chatting with the insurance company and they provided me with a list of in network counselors. Curiously enough all are psychologists, no social workers or licensed counselors
Will be sunny today and in the low 40s
