San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) - LVN to RN Bridge

Published

Hello!

I recently applied for SJVC in Visalia LVN to RN Bridge program for 2025. I already took my RN fundamentals test and passed. I was wondering if anyone else has taken it and if they have been contacted about an interview?

hey everyone! I  went to my interview this morning. It was 30 mins long, they basically just went down a sheet of questions and had you answer them fairly quickly. I did feel pretty rushed which kind of sucked cause I felt like I couldn't really try to stand out in any way. They two interview people were nice and also instructors for the program. After the interview, you'll meet with the financial aid lady and she'll just go over the program cost, what FAFSA will give you and their only loan option. There is no running of your credit or anything for this. All in all I feel like it went well and hoping I'll hear back! I'm assuming by end of oct or beginning of nov! Let me know if anyone else has gotten a call or interviewed !

Hi what kind of questions were asked? if you don't mind me asking. I am extremely nervous for interviews especially one as important as this

I don't mind at all 🙂 Pretty basic questions: "Tell us about your nursing career/journey (they want estimates of years plus names of schools)" "Give us an example of a time where you had a conflict that needed to be resolved, how did you resolve it?" "If you failed a class or exam in the past, what did you do about it?" and honestly just variations of the same type of thing. At one point I answered a question, and the next one was literally asking me the same thing but with diff words and the main lady was like nvm you just answered that lets move on. I had a long weekend at work with a new admission so I didn't prep a lot of examples but I think anything will work as long as it seems mostly on topic. They will ask about working full time and going to school and then also ask finances somewhat too. But all in all, it was pretty basic and standard interview questions.

For those who were interviewed, did you have to write an essay? Wondering if it's still a requirement.

No! It's just a quick interview, only 30 mins.

Hi everyone! I know majority applied to Visalia (I applied to Ontario's) just wondering if they told you guys when you will know if you got in or not? Ours is late November early December which sucks because I would like to apply to other colleges before then.

I was told by the interview instructors that we would be notified by the end of this month a phone call for acceptance and an email if you did not recieve a spot.

Yes I did

I also applied to Ontario but my ATI score was so low... However, I did get a call from financial aid saying they'll set me up for an interview. I don't think I got in based on my scores and I thought you had to have an interview before financial aid contacts you?.. Has anyone gotten a call like I did?

I had the interview based on scores and then they have you talk to financial aid before you leave.

Yeah for Ontario's they went based off my score, called me for an interview and then the financial aid interview was right after that. From what I was told they're going to be interviewing until November!

Hmm yeah that's different from me because I didn't actually get an interview asking me about why I wanted to be a nurse etc, only the pending financial aid interview..
