San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) - LVN to RN Bridge

Hello!

I recently applied for SJVC in Visalia LVN to RN Bridge program for 2025. I already took my RN fundamentals test and passed. I was wondering if anyone else has taken it and if they have been contacted about an interview?

Good luck! You got this!! I heard they are interviewing like 110 people. So I have no clue when they will even start calling folks for acceptance stuff.

Mmm okay I guess. I've never been good with typical interview questions. 😅 it's all kind of a blur when looking back on it.

For those who have interviewed and spoke with financial aid. How are you feeling about the rest of the amount due that is not covered by financial aid? My credit score is not good at all and I am scared I won't be able to secure a loan even from sallie mae if I were to be offered a seat. My out of pocket would be a about 25-26k

It's a steep amount to have to foot the bill. My friends who's in the program now had to use Sallie Mae and it was super hard to get plus at that time 15% interest. Which is insane!! Bc of my current income, FAFSA won't even give me any money and my fed loans were only 3500. The lady told me I can redo my FAFSA once I'm in and stop working full time and hopefully will get something then. I also Plan to file for EDD and hopefully get at least 1k from them as well. I've been saving the last few years for the program so I most likely will drain out my savings to pay for it. Not ideal at all 🥲

I feel you, if I do get a spot I might need to take a loan out against my house 😬

Has anyone heard anything back from the school?

No word yet. I'm dying with anxiety! I'm hoping this upcoming week we start hearing something! But I'm guessing since they pushed the application deadline by a week, it won't be until the first week of Nov 🙃😭 anyone else do their interview or still have one scheduled?

She said she will be making phone calls on the 5th
