Hey guys,

I’m considering applying to their program. Did anyone go to the orientation today (3/2)?

Do any of you know if they have a recency requirement for sciences?
I was a bad student many years ago but retook all of my sciences and got A’s. From what I can tell, I’ll loose points for repeats and they’ll take my C anatomy from 2002, not the A from 2 years ago. Do you guys know this to be true?

I sort of feel like I don’t have a leg to stand on if I apply even though I’ve done well in all of my recent coursework, received my AA/AS, am a CNA and scored an 88% on the TEAS. ?

I appreciate any feedback! ?

Hi,

I went and no they don't have recency for any pre-reqs; however, as you mentioned in your post they only take your first passing grade. So, your "C" will stand for your GPA calculation. They were very clear on that without being asked.

Yes as Nisha stats unfortunately they do not have a recency clause so they take first attempt no matter how long ago it was I'm having the same issue with English but I discovered if I get my a in critical thinking they will take that in September so I can get my points back plus my degree so if it doesn't work out this time maybe next time I will have a better chance

Indeed. Fortunately the English classes have three variations that they will accept; however, the sciences.. are an area that is more rigid for this and most other programs as it is your first attempt for A&P and Microbio only.

Thank you both! That’s what I feared and it’s a total bummer, for me. Maybe I’ll throw my name in the hat and cross my fingers for the 10% lottery.

Don't get discouraged! Print unofficial copies of your transcripts (from any and all colleges) and make an appointment with a Delta counselor ASAP. They will help you work out the best plan for you. You have a great TEAS score, may qualify for a significant lapse of time petition and if any of these apply to you--one semester of W, D, F, I in science prerequisites will be ignored. It's worth at least asking about it and seeing what your options may be. The counselors are not at their peak busy time right now...you should be able to get in quickly. If you live close to Tracy, call the Mountain House campus. They have counselors as well, I was able to get a next day appointment.

You know it’s truly worth a shot cuz you never know putting your name is definitely better than not and wondering “what if” good luck

I just wanted to wish you all the best. I graduated from the nursing program at Delta in 1989. WOW!!. I am old. I wish I could retire...but not quite yet. It was a good program! Back then we had to wear pin stripe dresses and we wore a nursing cap for graduation pictures. We also took the state boards on paper with a pencil! WOW!. LOL

Good luck everyone!

Hey guys, today is the day! I'm currently trying to apply. I get all the way to the end and the "submit" button is not available. Anyone else having issues?

I can't access the "ADN Application" button ?...so yes, I'm having issues too.

OK well at least we're not alone! Here's the link if that helps you at all. I left a message for the help desk, but they haven't returned my call just yet.

Just an update: I had to speak with the Health Sciences division who couldn't see any error on their side. So, I need to wait until maybe tomorrow and see if it's working. If anyone has any errors, please email the health sciences department. She said if she starts receiving a bunch of people having problems then she will have to submit something to their IT department. Otherwise, it might just be my application. ?
