San Joaquin Delta College Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everybody, I decided to make a thread for everyone applying to SJDC's nursing program for the Fall 2017 semester. This is a good space to collaborate and share information, exchange scores, etc etc

The application was supposed to open "the first week of February", and today is the 7th but there is still no application or update of any kind on the site. Does anybody have any information about this? I'm getting anxious checking every day and I just want to apply already!

We just received another email. The deadline to purchase your castlebranch account for the background check and drug screen is 6/21 and the deadline for the other requirements is 7/5.

Where are you guys getting your TB test done? Every place I've called doesn't know what the 2-step tb test is..

I'm just going to do the quantiferon

Where are you getting that done, if you don't mind me asking?

I made an appointment with a PCP and I'm requesting the labs/titers to be ordered with sutter

I'm also having TB screening done at Sutter through my PCP. They are aware of the 2-step test. Dr. Ali requires 2nd test be done 11+ days from 1st test.

Thanks for the info guys, I really appreciate it.

Hi everyone! With registration getting closer, has anyone decided where they would like to do their clinicals yet? I'm thinking St. Joseph's but I haven't decided for sure yet

Where and when do ya'll plan on getting your CPR certification?

I did mine in rancho Cordova since I live in sac , it was not bad at all.

Oh and just so you all know. I had to call castle branch and have them look up my drug test. It had been over a week and they still hadn't posted my results. So don't panic if you don't see it posted and just call them ! :)

I'm starting 2nd semester this fall. Just thought I'd help out with some of your questions and give you a heads up. So approximate cost for me for 1st semester included the units (I had the BOG waiver so didn't have to pay that), 1 uniform $96, ATI materials $654, required and recommended books (I got them off valorebooks for about $500, my friend got them through the school for $1000, same books). White shoes if you don't already have them, stethoscope $30-$100 depending on what kind you buy. That's all I can thing of regarding cost right now.

I had Malloy for clinicals at manteca, he's awesome, get him if you can. Pieretti is a good lecture instructor. Malloy is also supposed to be doing lecture as well for ADN2 so bare with him as it will be his first time lecturing. But he's a great teacher, explains things well, doesn't make you feel like your stupid or should have already known that.

Anyways hope this helps. And good luck.

Oh PS, the disorganized, hecticness doesn't stop so get used to it
