San Joaquin Delta College ADN Fall 2023

Published

Hello Everyone! Just starting a thread for San Joaquin Delta College RN program. Hope to hear from everyone applying! Does anyone know when the application period is going to be for fall 2023?

When you send your TEAS scores (after paying their excessive fees - yes, I'm bitter), you will get electronic confirmation when your TEAS scores are received.

The same applies to any electronic transcript you have sent to SJDC. You will get an electronic confirmation when your transcript is received.

I don't know about physical transcripts being sent. I'm assuming there will be some sort of confirmation from SJDC.

Finally, be aware that the electronic clearing houses that most universities now use to send transcripts can take up to 4 business days (that's Mon-Fri only - no exceptions on weekends - believe me I've tried) to send these transcripts. Electronic confirmation is usually available within minutes of when SJDC gets them.

If you don't get the electronic confirmation be sure to check your spam filters as sometimes they are stuck in them.

Got it. Thank you!! As for the transcript, I took all of my classes at Delta so the counselor told me that I don't have to submit any transcript or course descriptions at all.

Btw how long does it take for ATI to send the TEAS scores? Because I'm planning to send it tomorrow.

Now I'm confused.

When you first applied to the program (the deadline for which was April 11th) did you submit transcripts then?

If so, I believe you might have to do it again.

They are very particular about when they want transcripts because they don't have the full-time staff to handle submissions that come trickling in at odd times.

That is why they make you submit a physical supplemental application with your ID and these transcripts (electronically mostly but in some cases physically) so that they can minimize transcripts getting misplaced.

As soon as you can, please contact a nursing counselor in-person at DeRicco 234, by phone at (209) 954-5151 ext. 6276, or by chat via https://deltacollege.edu/student-services/counseling-center/make-appointment-counselor and they can get it all straightened out.

Yes I did. I transferred all my transcripts from both school I have attended even my TEAS transcript . I didn't know any better cuz MJC and Merced I did the same. I got accepted to Merced but didn't go cuz too far away for me.  Thank you for the info. I hope I can get ahold of someone from delta tmr and will ask how they want exactly.

Take a deep breath, you are doing everything right!

You do not submit supplemental documentation (TEAS is supplemental documentation) until after they tell you to submit it.

You and I are in the same boat. So you do what I will do, I will contact TEAS shortly and tell them to send my score to SJDC, which they will do after they take their excessively large fee for doing so.

?? thank you so much that makes me feel so much better. See...you already seem like a nurse!! Calming me down like it's gonna be okay!

Yes, if you took all your classes at SJDC then you do not need to send a transcript as they already have access to it.

With regards to ATI, having sent my TEAS scores this morning (after paying what I think is an excessive fee for an electronic submission - yes, I continue to be bitter), I was told 2-3 business days for the request to be processed. Once it is processed, the submission to SJDC takes seconds.

Thanks for saying that (quoting my mother again - "From your mouth to God's ears").

???

can you please show us how you went about the process of having your transcripts sent over to delta? I'm off for 2 days and literally only have these two days to get all my docs in. I have horrible working hours. I start when everything opens and get off when all offices close ?

Search for registrar office at the colleges you attended (if they are not SJDC) and select the link for requesting transcripts. Then follow the instructions they have on their websites.

In most cases with colleges on the west coast, they use a national clearinghouse to send transcripts.

If your college does this then the link on the registrar's page will take you to this service.

Once there you follow the prompts and fill out the form.

Since SJDC wants the transcripts sent to an email address rather than the registrar office, you tell the prompts you want an electronic transcript and when you get a box to enter where to send the transcript you enter:

[email protected]

If on the other hand, you did coursework at east coast colleges (like me unfortunately) that don't use national clearinghouses to send transcripts, you need to print out the form they have on the registrar office's website.

Fax it over to the college (I know - no one has a fax anymore, so you have to go to a place like the UPS Store and have it done) with the email address in it.

In my case, one east coast college sent the transcript over within a few hours. In the other case, the east coast college says it will not do it till Wednesday next week.

If you want me to walk through the process with you, I can do that as well; but, it would have to be on Saturday and locally near SJDC. I don't think the SJDC library is open but there is a Stockton Library Branch https://ssjcpl.org/locations/stockton/troke.html that is open from 10am-5pm.

Does anyone know which building and room number to drop the documentation packet if we want to do it in person?

In previous years it was:

Locke Building 2nd floor, room 203
(209) 954-5454

but this year they seem particularly discombobulated.

I tried calling that number so many times today with no luck. I then went to campus only to find this office closed.

I grew up on the East Coast and I'm not used to this much confusion from people in charge of nursing programs. Relatives and friends who attended programs on the East Coast (even during Covid-19) are just amazed at how bad it appears at SJDC.

Did anyone notice that the submission date on the SJDC website is April 27th for the documentation but May 4th when you login to the SJDC ADN application form site?

So what I did is pester (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) who is the acting director of this program at SJDC for an update on what we should do.

He is trying to arrange some method whereby we can ask questions of someone in the Health Sciences Division.

In the meantime, can members of this forum with questions please post them asap and I will attempt to get them in front of (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) or the relevant individuals at the Health Sciences Division.

Yes, I heard last Fall was Locke Building 2nd floor, room 203 too. If you do find out where we can drop them off, can you please post it here? Thank you so much for replying!

Just heard back from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME), there was apparently a Board of Trustees meeting at SJDC today which explains why everyone is still on campus but not in their offices.

To drop off applications the address is: Locke building 2nd floor, room 203

To contact anyone with questions ((MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) suggests that you contact the office not me with them) the number is:
(209) 954-5454
