San Joaquin Delta College ADN Spring 2016 Applicants

Published

Hey guys!

So I made this thread so that anyone applying to SJDC for spring semester 2016 can post with any questions, and fingers crossed, we all get in and can get to know each other a little bit :)

If you don't mind posting your scores, what are you points? I calculated mine and I am at 57 points, so i'm a little worried.

Does anyone know what the point cut offs were for the last couple semesters? And how low did they go down to after people either declined or accepted their spots?

It's alot of information, please can anyone give any insight on how to get started? I just glanced through and will go through them with no distractions tomorrow

With "getting started," I meant the sequence of the immunizations & screenings, since some of them need to be done no more than 60 days prior to starting the program

My registration day already passed but I can't sign up for the Nursing classes, only the other classes. Anyone having this issue?

My registration date was yesterday. I had no problem registering for the classes. I visited the Health Sciences office today for an unrelated question. I heard that spots for SJMC are filling up. Are you having trouble registering for your Lab 1L and Lab 2L classes?

The order in which you register for the classes is important. You much register them one by one in this order: NURSADN1, NURSADN1L, NURSADN2, NURSADN2L, then NURSADN 3A. I tried to register for the classes "out of order" and it would not let me add the class. Once I figured that out, I was able to register for all of the classes.

I looked the package. There something confused me. On package, they said you need register same clinic location for 001L & 002L. Is this just for 1st semester or during entire program? Anyone has ideas?

Do we have a chance rotate all clinic or just stuck with the first one ?

Would I still need to complete the packet even if I'm an alternate??? It's my first time applying

I'm currently in the Delta ADN program in the 3rd semester. I was originally turned down when I applied and months later got a call about a spot opening up so don't give up hope if you get turned down at first. My total score was 56 so don't get discouraged guys!

Do you mind me asking what alt # you had received? I'm debating whether I should even go through the adn packet especially with paying for the background check since I'm an alternate and I just don't feel like I even have a chance :/

I'm thinking it's only the for the first semester that you're committed to one particular clinical site. Next semester you will most likely be able change it up.

Thanks so much AmIaRNYET?. I picked my classes already. I ended up with a total of 10 Units first semester. 001L and 002L I believe is our internship.

Has anyone got started on the Immunizations?

I haven't started on the immunizations however I was a little confused with the statement that some screenings or immunizations can not be done more than 60 days before the start of the program. The only thing I found in the packet about no more then 60 days out was the professional . The TB screening requires two reads at least a week apart so I want to get started now. I have a Dr. appointment tomorrow but I'm concerned it's too soon. Did anyone read what immunizations or screenings can't be more than 60 days before the start of the program? Which ones are they?

I emailed the health sciences dept yesterday to clarify which vaccinations are supposed to be completed within 60 days of starting, I'll let you know when I hear back :)

Thank you MP. Also, did you have your transcripts from your other college evaluated yet? I just submitted my evaluation form and I'm concerned that I won't be able to register for my nursing classes on November 25th without the evaluation being done. Does anyone know if this will effect my ability to register for classes?
