Hi friends, my name is John. I'm new here and wanted to start a thread for those applying for the Fall 2014 admission at SJDC. I've read similar threads about past classes and found them interesting and informative.

I just finished up Physiology (still nervously waiting for my grade) and I'll be taking the TEAS at Modesto JC on 12/20. After that I'll be putting together my application!

I just noticed on Delta's ADN site that the TEAS will be offered at the Stockton campus the second week of January. Still no information on when the actual application period is going to be.

Anybody else want to share any thoughts, concerns, rumors, or advice?

Its a database where you will be uploading all your documents (Immunization and certificate requirements like cpr and your drug/background check) to by a deadline ours was the 7th. you will get an email from ------------ giving you a UN and PW to log on. When you hear back from them about your acceptance you should ask them about it. We didn't get the email right away though but since you have less time idk how that would work.

okay awesome, I'm waiting to hear back on Monday to see if I've been accepted. I got a call saying all my paperwork checked out fine so hopefully its smooth sailing from there, this is a 2nd chance to do nursing school for me so I'm really excited.

so you kind of know what to expect ? I'm pretty clueless on how I should prepare for clinicals and fundamentals.

Yeah its a nightmare the first few weeks until you get a feel for it and build solid study routines for the courses. It literally felt like everything you took in prereqs thrown at you all at once and applying it to human health, thats probably the best way I can explain it.

It gets crazier when you start juggling class exams, practical exams and clinicals all at the same time, but it does make time fly.

I just registered for my classes!! I got SJMC with Meza. Does anyone know anything about the clinical teacher? My e-value still says that my items have not been met. That kinda scares me. Also has anyone took the Speech class at Delta. Do you normally get in the class if you are on the wait list?

I just learned I was disqualified because I failed to sign my social security card. I am completely sick right now. I feel like a complete idiot. I hope those who were in this weird little group with me get in. I'm going to go crawl in a hole and cry now.

i just looked up the checklist, it doesn't say signed SS card.... But still, I'm an idiot

I checked and it said I was conditionally accepted and sent the acceptance thing online! so excited!!! That is so horrible AliRoseC!!! I can't believe they would disqualify you over something like that, I dont think it was even emphasized that it had to be signed or anything. Have you tried to get in contact with them about it?

it wasn't mentioned at all actually, just a copy of your SS card was needed for the # to do background checks etc.... I emailed them, but as of yet no reply. I'm so depressed over this right now. It'd be one thing if it was my grades or... Something bigger! But this? It's totally my fault, but maybe a phone call or email telling me to correct this would have been nice.... Personally, I couldn't do that to someone.

thats so messed up, they should have contacted you. It seems so petty. I emailed them a lot about a few things and never got an answer back from anyone so I just did research on my own. Thats horrible what happened to you :(

Thanks :/ I'm mostly mad at myself. This is my third year trying to get in somewhere. I've mostly been dealing with lotteries, second time applying with SJDC. I'm taking the last class to get my AS degree, then I will retake my teas for a high score... Hopefully I can get into stockton, or somewhere else soon. I'm so sick of this game. This was just heart breaking

I'm really sorry to hear about your disqualification I would be pretty heart broken too if that were the reason. hopefully you can talk to someone and they will give you a chance. It really sucks. Things can only look better after this, you are so close don't give up !!! I'm cheering for you an AS is 2.5 more points and improving your TEAs score will give you more ! I know that right now nothing can really make you feel better but hey I believe in you, YOU WILL GET IN NEXT ROTATION whats one more semester ? (I used to tell myself that all the time to keep me going after a set back) I hear MJC isnt doing lottery anymore so all those people with bad grades that got lucky cant take your spot anymore but either way you are getting in next rotation :)

Thank you. I'm thinking about seeing if I can find someone a bit higher up to email. Maybe I've moved on to the next stage of grieving, but I'm just mad now. It said in The checklist, they needed a copy of the SS card for the #, I don't see how a signature affects the #. They had my signature on so many other things! Like my DL!

I wish my local school would drop the lottery, it's just wrong!

Hey guys!! So there's only about 3 weeks left before school starts (if your taking the ENG 33 class). I'm so ready to start and met everyone! Just curous, who is still waiting for their evalue to be updated? I'm not worried since I did everything that was required, but it would be nice to see my requirements say met lol.
