[color=#008000]hello guys... i'm creating this post to keep track of acceptance into the adn program at san jacinto college.

Yep! My last 2 are MM/Year, I was told it "changed" as of June this year.....the lady I used said she's never heard of the change and looked on the American Heart Assoc instructor site & couldn't find the new requirement. Oh well I paid my $5 and had a new card issued

Never gave up!

We must have used the same lady. I just got off the phone with her an it looks like she is about to call the nursing dept for causing her all these issues, lol!

Poor C****! She said she's about ready to explode not to mention run out of cards! It's crazy the variety of info given out!

Never gave up!

Yeah I do feel sorry for her. I was apologizing for it even though it wasn't me.

Yeah I took your word for it and asked for a replacement cpr card with mm/dd/yy before I turned my stuff in today. They did it no charge so that's good. All this running around back and forth though!!! I'm glad my paperwork was good so now I'm ready for orientation!

Glad you were able to get it all accomplished. Deer Park finally got my stuff together, so I am going by ****** then to Deer Park Clinic and then to turn it all in.

Did any of the rest of you have the problems with the CPR cards from other places? Just curious.

I know its getting aggravating for a lot of us up to this point, but we are almost there. Well for more aggregation! lol!

Yeah, me too! :) When I turned my stuff in they told me to enjoy what's left of my free time. :) So i'm gonna go get right to it.

Me too!

Get this, I have a friend who turned in her stuff and she took her CPR class with me. Well they accepted her card. Month and year. Crazy, huh? Oh well!

Due to such confusion caused over comments and egregious dissemination of incorrect information (attributed to the Associate Degree Nursing Office policy and/or phone & email exchanges with the Associate Degree Nursing department), I will no longer clarify information on any websites except those owned by San Jacinto College District. It is your responsibility to contact the office to determine what is and is not required of you. The Associate Degree Nursing Office will closely monitor threads from now on to report instances of this nature to allnurses (dot) com. Thank you.

Look forward to seeing everyone at Orientation Friday. Really excited to start this process (yes, and a little scared).

Just an FYI on those of you waiting on books. You need all of the required books, but I would hold off on the med-surg book as you do not need it right away. You will need all the others on the required list though. They are super expensive the first semester, but you will use them all for the rest of the program and you do not have to buy nearly as many for further semesters.

And she is right. You will have no free time once you start. I had two exams today and three finals next week with a clinical day in between. Nursing school will be your life for the next two years.

Same here! I am excited but nervous all wrapped into one0
