San Jacinto Central - ADN program Spring 2020

Published

Hi everyone,

I opened this thread to see what is everyone doing to prepare for their applications.

I currently have 23 points based on the rubric from SanJac and will submit my application for the Spring 2020.

Thank you! I am very determined to become a nurse! I'm actually use to the craziness. This will be my third degree that I obtain all while working full-time and raising three children! But yes, the hesi at the end of each course is only worth 10% of your grade; so, if you're sitting at an A or B, failing won't hurt your overall grade too much. However, if you're sitting a C, failing the Hesi can take you below 75% which is needed to pass the class.

Hi,

I’m taking Pharmacology at Lee College while applying for Spring ADN program. I wonder if you have known anyone took this class before the program? How they take the Hesi like when to take it or any additional requirement to satisfy the program with Pharmacology?

Hi everyone!

Did anyone take the Hesi at San Jac? I have a G number but that is about it. Do you think I will be allowed to take it there?

Also, I just made a Castle branch account. I am going to get my drug screening done tomorrow, and also have physical tomorrow for the titers. Do you think I'll make the north campus deadline for the 25th? Idk how long castle branch and the titers take.

Hey! Do Not do the physical exam until you get accepted, because they will send you desired place to go get your exam. Titers take technically 7 business days to be approved ( my experience)

You CAN take your Hesi at the San Jac campus!

Hi,

The new rule started applying the Spring and so on. I asked and knew that because of the wait list was long and the cohort had good score to be considered and they also had )completed all their perquisites. That is why they decided not to allow 1 course in progress anymore.

I don't know why people are being told different versions. I spoke with Ms. Ira (Sr. Administrator) & she said, "YES, you can submit your application with one course in progress, but be aware that you are going against those that already have everything completed."

Hello,

How soon can you retake the hesi? Two weeks?

Specializes in nursing.

Hey guys! I am applying for both Central and North campuses (ADN program). I am just about to turn in my applications. My stats: All As on my pre reqs, 87 on my HESI and a 3.9 GPA. Rubric score 23. Deadline hasn't even passed and I already feel super anxious. Goodluck to you all!

I as well as other students in my cohort completed pharmacology outside of the program. I would recommend that you take it beforehand because I hear that it is difficult to manage pharm and the other required nursing course all in one 8 week term. I would suggest taking the Hesi after you've completed your prereqs such as English, A&P, Micro, Math, etc.

Does anyone know if there is a difference in ADN programs between North and Central campus, other than location. I am not sure I will make the North application deadline, so I am wondering if there are any reviews about Central Campus ADN program?

The Hesi exam i talked about was the one in Pharmacology. The one includes in the Pharm course at the end of semester

If you take class outside of the program, you will have to take a pharm Hesi. However, if you take pharm while in the program, you will have to take a Hesi. Most of my cohort said the Hesi was not hard.
