Anyone applying for the spring semester!!

@ CHUNKY_MUNKEY

You can purchase the HESI book at Barnes & Nobles for $39.95 if you need it now. It's located in the Nursing Reference section. The River Oaks location (@ W. Gray and S. Shepherd) had plenty as of yesterday. I think it's the same price on the elsevier website.

@CHUNKY_MUNKEY

On the scoring rubric, I used my ENGL 1301 grade since that is what is required. However, I believe that you should take the better grade of the two. The committee is going to verify it anyway when reviewing the transcripts. Get those points!:D

Oh..good lawd! I'm a hopeful for Fall 2011! hee hee. I really need to lay off on all this caffeine! It will make you do strange things...like post on the wrong thread! Good luck everyone! Keep me posted!

Yup, that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'll complete all the prereqs by Summer II so that leaves me some wiggle room to apply for Spring 2012.

Hello, all!

I'm baack! :DAfter my "misfortune" for Fall 2011 consideration, it appears that I will be pressing on to Spring 2012. Maybe this should have been my intention all along. Looking forward to the journey and no repeat performances! ha ha

@ Mochachild... SWEET!!!! Looking forward to sharing our experiences on the road toward nursing school. :D

I took my Hesi test for another school and will be using those scores for San Jacinto. The application window for Spring 2012 hasn't opened yet, another month or so to go.

The application window officially opened Sept 1st. Goodluck to everyone!!

hey chunky_munkey!!

i see great minds think alike!!

i'll be applying at san jac as well! i wondered if you could help me out a bit. i just got off the phone with a chick, who by the way was completely rude, from the nursing department and could not help me at all. i hope someone can help me here.

4 questions:

1. are hard copies of the hesi scores printed from evolve sufficient enough? or should they be electronically sent? if so, to who? or do we have to get evolve to mail them to sanjac??

2. i know i can mail in my application but can i physically go and drop off my application anytime during the application period? or do i have to wait until the last day (nov.1st) of the application period?

3. i have already submitted my transcripts for evaluation, and they are up on the system, however, i'm wondering if i need to submit a hard copy of an unofficial transcript. i'm not sure.

4. is the information session mandatory to attend??

someone please help!

thanks!

One more thing.....

Will SAN JAC accept Lone Star HESI scores??

i was told to turn in hard copy from evolve with the actual application and request official scores to be sent from evolve to san jac. you can get a hold of the person who handles official transcripts at evolve to have your scores sent directly. evolve will send you a hesi transcript request via email and ask for payment information $15.00 for each hesi score transcript. you fill out the hesi transcript request, send it back(fax/email), then call back to submit your payment.

2. i know i can mail in my application but can i physically go and drop off my application anytime during the application period? or do i have to wait until the last day (nov.1st) of the application period?

yes, you can go to central to drop off your application at anytime, before nov. 1st, during normal business hours. i'd actually prefer to hand deliver my application because it alleviates any mishaps in transit, plus it gives me an opportunity to chit chat with the adn dept to make sure my application is totally complete. if i were to be missing anything they'd catch it right away or fix any problems necessary before the deadline.

3. i have already submitted my transcripts for evaluation, and they are up on the system, however, i'm wondering if i need to submit a hard copy of an unofficial transcript. i'm not sure.

they ask you to get your transcripts evaluated because they get their own copies of your grades/courses directly from the registrars office. you don't need to send in hard copies. at the information session they said to follow the application instructions as they are. do not send in any extra paperwork if they don't ask for it in the application packet.

4. is the information session mandatory to attend??

no, it's not mandatory as far as i know it. i went to the first info session they had a few weeks and no one mentioned it was mandatory.

someone please help!

thanks!
