San Francisco State University (SFSU) Spring 2025 BSN Program

Hello everyone, I wanted to make a forum for us applying to SFSU's Spring 2025 cohort for the BSN program to hopefully discuss the application and maybe some other questions we have. It might be helpful for us and future applicants as well!

hii, I got an email earlier from sf admissions that they couldnt offer me admission into my preferred major (nursing) but I got into my alternative major. 

does this officially mean that I didn't get into the nursing program? or should I wait to hear from the actual nursing department?

That makes me wonder why I got waitlisted since I have 4.0 both overall GPA and Preres. And my TEAS is  97.3%, I have 1600 hours of work experience as a MA at Oakland Kaiser medical center.

Personal statement questions maybe? Or more healthcare experience? I know at East Bay after a certain point the points you earn for TEAS and GPA get you max point in those categories. Maybe it's the same sort of situation at SFSU

I got waitlisted at East Bay because of my healthcare experience form was filled out wrong by my supervisor.

Hey, don't beat yourself up too much! You will most likely get in, especially since you're #2 on the waitlist. My peers who got in last Spring were at #11-13.

I just received acceptance from the school & into the nursing program! I also got into CSU East Bay nursing program but I SF was my first choice. congrats to everybody that got in!! waitlist don't lose hope & denials, I hope you get into other programs I wish you all the best! <3

Yea not yet either. It sort of threw me off getting the waitlist notification via the school email but not from the department.

the school said to email the nursing department and ask them for your waitlist number
