San Francisco State University (SFSU) Entry Level Master of Science in Nursing (ELM) - Fall 2024

Hi! I wanted to start a thread for SFSU ELMSN applicants for fall of 2024. I'm actually a current student who began the program in fall 2023 and wanted to provide a place to answer any questions applicants might have about the program. Our application cycle didn't have any connection to those further along in the program than us when we applied, which made it difficult to find information. So please reach out with any questions, concerns, or to connect with other applicants!

Congrats on being number 1 on the waitlist! I'm positive you'll get in!

I'm currently #2 on the waitlist. I haven't heard anything either, so I am super nervous LOL!

I believe y'all can get in. I know 2 people denied their offer. One person on waitlist denied it and one got admitted also denied the offer. 😀

So maybe it is based on your speciality? Cause there can't be 2 people on the waitlist as number 1

ay... the waiting is very painful... 

@girlypop is it the waitlist for the ELMSN? I just called their office and they said that they will be emailing out acceptance offers to folks on the waitlist as they receive denials from folks admitted. I didn't dare ask if my waitlist number was correct 😅

Sarah wrote a comment on this earlier in the thread. I believe it's two days of classes and two days of clinicals.

Last year's wait list was by specialty. Two people in my program were both #4 for their different specialties. So it seems like it's the same this year.

It varies. Last semester we were on campus like 3 days a week. This semester is maybe 2, sometimes none.

I chose the women's health concentration. Which one did you choose?

I can just imagine myself trying to describe to whoever is attending the phones in the SF State nursing dept our forum conversation and how we think their might have been an error with the number assignments 😂

LOL same the last time I called from a blocked number and once they asked for my id number just to ask when they're gonna send the acceptance letter once he asked for my ID number my stomach dropped now I just be patient 😭

Hi Peyton! I also selected psychiatric as a specialty and was waitlisted! Where are you in the waitlist? 

I think it might be safe to assume the waitlist is based on speciality based on what Sarah had mentioned for last cohort and what we're seeing with everyone's numbers.
