San Fran Salary

Updated:   Published

Hey all!

I was wondering how much salary was for a BSN in San Francisco. Specifically someone with 1-3 years of experience.

Online says anything from $64,589 to $99,870 for 1-3 years experience, and an average nurse gets anywhere from $115,000 to $130,000.

Would rather ask for personal experience as online is so broad. Thanks so much ahead of time.

$60 at Stanford, $40 at the VA. This is just an approximate. I heard Kaiser pays the best. All jobs are extremely competitive.

Remember, the pay looks great on paper, but it will all be going toward housing.

Apartments start at about $3700/mo around here and that's if you can even find those.

Correct!

I joined Stanford Health Care with around 3 years of experience & started at Clinical Nurse II step 4. Using our latest contract, that would mean $76.25/hr before differentials (10% for evening, 18% for night, & 5% for weekend)

Top pay with 30 years is $115. That’s impressive.

San Francisco hourly wages for experienced RNs are usually $60+ an hour, and some places bring the rate closer to $70+. Private hospitals pay more than public or government.

For the rest of the Bay Area, the range is $55-65.

Keep in mind the average rent in SF is approximately $3.5k a month.

I have three years of experience and work in the East Bay. I make $76.25/hr ($71 base and $5.25 differential for evening shift). We also get $3/hr for weekend shifts. I'm making approximately $126,000 a year. Average 1 bedroom apartment in this area is $2k.
