Hi! I wanted to see what people were planning on applying with for Nationals San Diego Cohort 68. The application deadline is Mid August 2021.
I am not quite finished with my pre-reqs yet nor have I taken my TEAS, but I will update when I have!
My goal is no lower than a 3.6GPA, and 86% or higher on the TEAS
I am applying for 68 as well! My science GPA is at almost a 3.5 right now so I’m going to retake micro starting in June and hopefully get an A to raise it to 3.78. I only got an 80% on my TEAS so I will probably study like crazy throughout Summer and retake it the first week of August. I’m shooting for above a 90%. Hoping that’ll land me an interview! Good luck everyone! (:
I am happy to have come across this thread but also a little discouraged. My GPA is only 3.53 (Science/Math) my TEAS is scheduled for July. I would take my science classes again but at $2200 a class I can’t afford to re do them again (100% paid out of pocket) is anyone else with a 3.5 GPA going to apply? And focus on doing well in the TEAS? Does anyone have knowledge of Nationals point system? I know community colleges do a point system (if you speak another language, first generation college, volunteer experience, health care experience, ex) does anyone know if National has anything like that? Excited to hear what y’all have to say.

40% TEAS
40% science GPA (so your pts would be 35.3pt)
20% interview (top scored 80-90 applicants get an interview. )
no extra pts for experience or language
if you open a bank account at Cal coast credit union you can get 25% off your tuition (not applicable to nursing program but I think all pre reqs are fine, check with a counselor). I did all my science classes at national and paid out of pocket so I understand your pain. LOL. Also apply for fasfa/pell grants. Everything’s helps. Good luck!

Yes...kinda. You can tell your counselor that you want to switch your degree from non degree seeking to an (I think but I will have to double check) associates in biology since it has pretty much all the same pre reqs as nursing. Then switch it to nursing once you apply/get accepted. That way you are in a ‘degree seeking program’, that’s how you can get financial aid. But I think the cal coast credit unions discount is good for degree seeking and non degree seeking.
I have a lot of friends who have already gone through the program, are currently in it, or are applying. I learn new info allll the time! Hope this helps. If your counselor doesn’t help you, ask for a different one.

Hey! I am planning on applying to Cohort 68 too. I’m finishing up the bst class and planning on taking the TEAS. I’m at 3.5 right now and hoping to do well on the TEAS :)
