San Diego City College RN program

U.S.A. California

Hi All,

I'm currently taking anatomy and only need micro and physiology. I have completed all of my pre-reqs. I'm looking into the RN program at city college. Once I completed my 3 required science courses will I get accepted if I put my name on the waitlist?? I know that I need a C and above with 2.5 or higher. Is it a gurantee spot after the long wait?? For those putted their names on the waitlist how long did it take you to get accepted??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get the science pre-reqs done as soon as you can and then apply. You get in after the wait is up. But you must also take and pass the TEASE. :)

Most apply not only at City but Grossmont and Southwestern too. Some even go as far as Palomar college. Then they take whatever comes up first because after the first semester is over or the first year they can then try to transfer over to whatever college is closest to home.

Good luck and get going! :D

I'm on the City and Grossmont list. City only accepts in the fall and grossmont does spring and fall sessions. I took the TEAS at grossmont and passed and just have to transfer my score over to City. I'm waiting right now to see if I got in the Spring 09 at grossmont but i'm highly doubtful. So it is going to be the decision of which one I want to go to Fall 09. By the way, I've been on the wait list since Jan. 07 so the wait is about 2.5 years.

So just get your pre-reqs done and put your name of the lists. During that two year wait I would take the gen eds for sdsu and see if you could get into that program. I regret not doing it now but I will probably do the RN-BSN there.

Hello,

Crazychiq's advice is good. Once you get on the waitlist, study other prereq courses for a university if you want to head that route eventually. CSU San Marcos and National University also have nursing programs.

Hang in there and good luck!!:D

Hi,

It's my first year at City College. I waited 2.5 years to get in. You have to pass the TEAS test and once your number comes up, you're in.

Make sure you have all of your other General Ed completed before you start the program. The program is split into two 9 week sections and every 9 weeks, you take two classes. You will start 2 weeks before everyone else and the coursework is quite heavy.

I also suggest that you start saving money now. Between books, uniforms, and immunizations, it can get pricey if you're not going to work. The people who work over 25 hours per week tend to fall behind because of all the reading.

Good luck!!!

Hi everyone,

I need a little help. I need some recent information about RN programmes in City Community College and Grossmont College in San Diego. I wish to know which better? Please, if somebody is enrolled in any of these colleges or graduated RN, please write me a few word about your experience! Anything will be helpful, thank you.
