San Bernardino Valley College Spring 2019

Published

Hello everyone!

I'm creating this post to connect with other students who will be applying as applications will be opening on the 1st of August. Only 5 days! Sbvc is my second choice school I'm really hoping to be invited to take the Hesi & accepted. However, I'm pretty nervous due to the new point system. I have an associates degree which I could have used to get points before this new system was put in place. It seems as if this point system is meant to be more competitive. My counselor there did tell me that it just depends on the applicant pool. She said that one year most students that applied had the bare minimum gpa's & some with mostly C's in prerequisites got in. So I guess it really just depends. Here's to hoping we all get in!

Thanks. I will find out. Currently, I'm also taking Pharmacy class. I will get my A.A degree in Pharmacy at Valley in Spring.

Awesome! I have an A.A as well & my counselor told me that they like when an applicant has a degree. There's an information meeting tomorrow at 9am for Chaffey's program. You should check it out & ask them any questions you may have.

Thanks for the info. I will be attending the workshop tomorrow.

Hi everyone! Just got an acceptance email from Valley this evening! I scored an 86.67% on the HESI. My science GPA is 3.5 and general is 3.82. I had a total of I believe 75 pts. I got the HESI invitation only 1 week before my test date so I scrambled to get the prep book and I hadn't studied at all so make sure to be studying way before. Took 7 days from test date to get the acceptance email. I hope this is of some help to anyone in the future!

If you don't mind me asking, did they calculate your points off the new point system? It seems to be more competitive so it's a but nerve-racking.
