Hello everyone!
I'm creating this post to connect with other students who will be applying as applications will be opening on the 1st of August. Only 5 days! Sbvc is my second choice school I'm really hoping to be invited to take the Hesi & accepted. However, I'm pretty nervous due to the new point system. I have an associates degree which I could have used to get points before this new system was put in place. It seems as if this point system is meant to be more competitive. My counselor there did tell me that it just depends on the applicant pool. She said that one year most students that applied had the bare minimum gpa's & some with mostly C's in prerequisites got in. So I guess it really just depends. Here's to hoping we all get in!
Hi everyone. Just out of curiosity has anyone heard anything about stats for this term or anything? How many people applied, etc. I know sometimes they give out this information at info meetings after the application deadline has closed. I know rumors are already circulating about my 1st choice school so I'm curious about Valley! There's over 500 views on this post. Come out of the woodworks guys! Lol
I got a rejection letter from Valley today. I Have to admit it kind of stungBut I got in at Chaffey which was my first choice so I'm elated. Congratulations to everyone who got Hesi invites. Study hard guys!
I just took the hesi exam today and got 77%. So worried about my score. I'm thinking of applying at Chaffey. Can you please share any info you may have regarding their requirements to get in the nursing program?
Thank you so much.

Absolutely!
Chaffey is said to be strictly lottery as long as you have a 2.8 Science gpa & a 3.0 cumulative.
There is a dosage calculation class requirement for Chaffey. However, they Only pick applicants from those who have Every class on the application completed so I recommend you take a look at the application & make sure you have everything done. Also if you can register for pharmacology or pathophysiology the semester you plan on applying at Chaffey those classes are recommended & quite a few of the students who have taken those classes end up getting in either on their 1st or 2nd try. I'm taking both this semester and thankfully I got in on my first try.

Ahhh that's So long! It's funny because the school with the Latest application term that I applied to (Chaffey college) will be the 1st one to notify me if I'm in or not. The other local schools take months to review applications & send notification. What all have you heard about Valley? I haven't heard a lot. All I know is it all depends on the applicant pool. I've talked to nursing students who've gotten in with high gpa's & others who've gotten in with lower gpa's. They've all said they enjoy the program so far. So here's to hoping we all get in! I applied to the generic program.
