Hello Everyone,

My name is Jonette and I will be attending Galen College of Nursing in San Antonio in July for LVN . I wanted to get some feed back from current or previous nursing students that has attended or currently attend here on what I can expect and some tips on how to be successful in the LVN program.

Mar 20 is when I got accepted.. no I was not an alternate.. have you reached out?

I have but I feel like I’m annoying my Admissions counselor at this point LOL. I asked him when I would most likely find out if a seat opens up and he said

“I do not know if and when additional seats will become available.

We currently have 13 people enrolled. We plan to enroll 40 students.”

LOL same! WOW! I guess they’re working slowly then... they haven’t even chose the 40 students then.. that’s weird because school starts soon! Well hopefully soon you find out ??

They’ve chosen the students. I’d been waiting for my financial aid to come through so I could start the enrollment process, but I’d also applied to a school that’s close to home and cheaper. I got in and I’m so relieved because I’ve already got a degree that my parents paid for and it’s basically useless ??? and Galen is expensive af and I was ready to take out loans bc I felt bad that they would want to pay for that too. I’m planning on rejecting my acceptance on Monday.

No, they already have chosen the 40 students Or else they wouldn’t of told me to apply for their LVN program. And the LVN program already have enrollment process going on, classes start July 6. And a few were picked as alternatives, if they haven’t already told you by now if you were accepted or placed as an alternative than your luck as run out.

do you know what quarter you will be starting off in for the BSN program? I have my first 4 quarters done from my associates in prenursing except for the Galen pathway to success (GPS 1200) and Cultural diversity (CLD 2105) and I believe clinicals dont start until quarter 6. Have you been told if we need CPR certification and immunizations for Quarter 5 since there is a lab?

I’m starting the BSN program July 6th so that’s when my 1st quarter will start... I also have my associates in pre nursing so they said that should cut prerequisites out so I think we should still start July 1st quarter but with obviously the harder classes. I’m in the same boat as you I tried calling and they said they would reach back but nothing yet.. they also told me I didn’t need immunizations until clinicals.

just curious for those of y'all who have done the enrollment appointment via zoom. did you just have just audio on or were you required to have webcam on too?

well I dont like doing webcam, so I tried to act as if I didn't have one butttttt they want you to be on webcam LOL because later when classes start you have to have a webcam to attend zoom lectures class
