Hello Everyone,
My name is Jonette and I will be attending Galen College of Nursing in San Antonio in July for LVN . I wanted to get some feed back from current or previous nursing students that has attended or currently attend here on what I can expect and some tips on how to be successful in the LVN program.

I know for the BSN program the Texas BON put a restriction on the program for 40 students since it is not yet accredited.
I did not know their BSN is not accredited yet. I have a friend who just started their BSN program (first class to start it) and i was looking into it, i try to stay away from the non-accredited programs. I went to Kaplan for their LVN program had the worse experience and couldnt pass the Nclex so im looking around to start fresh again. Galen was one for their bsn program, and also looking into Baptist for their RN program. Just need a higher score on the teas.

How does your friend like the program so far? How was the admissions process? What did they look for?

So I got with her on sunday to talk about her experience so far. She had the same reaction as i did when i thought about going to galen (were unsure about the school cause of past students saying its hard and they dont help much) but So far she loves it, the process sounds pretty easy. So I would recommend setting up a schedule to meet with the school about admissions and have all your questions answered with them, and schedule the PAX exam whenever you're ready. You do not need college classes for the BSN program, but if you want to save time and money and have some college done, just send in those transcripts could make that 3 year program into less then 3 years.
Also the program is now accredited. The first graduating class from this program is graduating after this quarter she says.

My friend who started the BSN program few months ago, said she got 110 on the pax. I haven’t heard anything for me And I got a 109 on it. LOL and honestly with this virus thing going on and getting into nursing school, I’m not going to stress it over, some nursing schools are struggling to get clinicals at this time. I think 2020 needs to end already LOL
