Samuel Merritt University (SMU), Sacramento Campus ABSN - Spring 2026

Published

Hey all,

Starting this thread for anyone applying to Samuel Merritt ABSN program Spring 2026 (Sacramento campus).  If you wish to share your experiences and updates, please post here.

  • I applied early June when the deadline was July 1st
  • Application deadline was subsequently moved to July 15th sometime in mid-June
  • Few days ago it was moved out all the way to Nov 15th

I did attend one of the Sacramento on-campus orientation sessions in May and was told that prospective students might hear back end of July or August, but given the deadline push it seems unlikely now.  I reached out to SMU but received a very non-committal and vague feedback on what to expect... basically "hurry up and wait" sort of response.

Looking forward to hearing from others who are applying to this cohort - please chime in!

Registration opens today at noon.

Thank you!! I wonder what other days we'll have class or have to be on campus because I only say that we had the set days for Tuesdays.

Hey everyone! dumb question but I am assuming these are the courses we need to complete through the year and not one semester right? if so, how is everyone breaking it up for the Spring?

NURSG 120, NURSG 120L, NURSG 125, NURSG 125L, NURSG 126, NURSG 126L, NURSG 128, NURSG 136, NURSG 136L, and NURSG 138.

Hey so that actually just the first semester:/ Ik it's a lot but they are broken up per month I think. If you look at the times it says the date as well

That makes so much sense, I didn't see the dates. Thank you!

Yeah all those classes will be completed during the 1st semester. You will have 3 blocks per semester. You will have 2 classes per block and 5 weeks in a block. Every 5 weeks two new classes. Clinicals begin with MCA1 which will be the 2nd 5 weeks.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm currently in the program and about to be your upperclassmen. Finished my 1st semester. See you guys in Jan.

Hey! Does anyone know why there isn't a references tab for Fall 2026 but there is for Summer 2026? I was wondering if they don't accept LOR anymore that's why there isn't a tab?
