Samuel Merritt University MSN FNP Summer 2012

I applied for MSN FNP for summer 2012 and just wondering when will they start sending acceptance/denial letters. I'm on the edge of my seat since I mailed my application. Anyone out there who has the same situation?? I cannot wait to get this over with. :/

If you don't mind what is your work experience/volunteer exp for whoever applied for the same program. and do they only really accept 24 students??!!

Interview went super well! She said I was one of the first. I will find out within two weeks if I am accepted :)Good luck everyone!

How long did the interview last? Not a group interview? Glad it went well!! May I ask what your current nursing specialty is? Mine is peds...but I have worked both in family practice and pediatrics. I hope I receive a call or invite soon!

I'm actually a new grad RN, BSN with a prior degree in community health education. I am one of the many unlucky ones who can't find my first RN job.The interview was very casual (although I dressed professional) and it was just me and the director of the FNP program. It lasted about 30 minutes. She asked about my experience, why I am pursuing the program and then we just talked about the program. Very comfortable welcoming setting. Hope that helps!

I moved to CA in 2009 and it took me a year to find a nursing job in Fairfield, that's with experience! New grads have it hard everywhere i've heard :(

Which is why I am fast tracking my goal of becoming a nurse practitioner since the whole working for a few years before hand isn't working out :/

I have a phone interview tomorrow!! Got any tips for me? What type of questions did she ask? She actually called me today while I was at a pm church service..hehe She said she would call back tomorrow :) I'm so excited though!

She asked open ended questions: Tell me about yourself? Why do you want to pursue a graduate degree? Tell me about your experience? Then we just talked about the program. Good luck!!

I had my phone interview today. I got accepted into the hybrid class! Although it's not "official" until I get the letter from SMU! I'm so excited! Classes may start as early as April 30!

Did she say when letters will be sent out? I had my in person interview almost two weeks ago and have yet to hear back.
