Samuel Merritt University MSN FNP Summer 2012

I applied for MSN FNP for summer 2012 and just wondering when will they start sending acceptance/denial letters. I'm on the edge of my seat since I mailed my application. Anyone out there who has the same situation?? I cannot wait to get this over with. :/

If you don't mind what is your work experience/volunteer exp for whoever applied for the same program. and do they only really accept 24 students??!!

I also applied for FNP summer 2012! I already have a bachelors in nursing. I currently work as a peds nurse and I love it...but I also have work experience in family practice and do not want to limit my scope of practice to just pediatrics. Are you planning to work and go to school? I'm really hoping I'll be able to attend night and weekend classes in sacramento for the first year. Good luck. I hope we hear from SMU soon!

I'm planning to study part time then work full time. I hope we get in! Do you know when will we start hearing from them?

BTW our scope of practice is the exact opposite. I work in geri and would like to focus on SNF. :)

From what I've seen from other posts, we should get notification for interviews via email in feb-march, along with entry level fnp applicants. I'm also looking into part-time, but full time would be best b/c I can graduate before DNP is mandated.

Just a quick up date, nothing major. I received an email from SMU stating they received my application for summer 2012 and it has been forwarded to the director for consideration =)

I guess this means more waiting...hehe

wow! better than nothing. i haven't received anything from them yet but called them the other day and basically told me the same thing that application was received. She also said it would take a month or so to hear back from them.. ugh. can't wait!

I got an email last night asking me if I am interested in the hybrid curriculum for the FNP program if I am admitted. They said there are more spots for that version of the curriculum *fingers crossed*. It's the same length, same courses, just some of the classes will be online as opposed to all on campus. Sounds great to me!

Nursecv, have you emailed ------, maybe the email they have on file is wrong? They sent out emails to notify us if it was incomplete or complete. You should contact them to make sure they have the right email on file. CaliCorin, I received the email about the hybrid classes as well. I wouldn't mind the hybrid classes at all...I don't really like driving at night...poor night vision. I live in Vacaville, how about you?

I was invited by the Director of the FNP program in Oakland to come and meet with her today. Wish me luck!! I am looking at it as a quasi interview and dressing professionally for it. Anyone else receive and email to meet with her?

She asked me for available time for phone interview... I chose sac campus only... But I asked her to consider me for both campuses. Good luck!! I'm nervous for you!! How exciting!
