Hi ya'll, starting a discussion for those who applied to Summer 2025 cohort at SMU! I'm curious to know if anyone has gotten any emails/updates? I personally applied to the Oakland campus. Goodluck everyone! : ).

Yes I'm nervous to apply for a loan because it shows as an inquiry in your credit report. Any recommendations aside from Sallie Mae?

I think you have a grace period for multiple inquires if you shop your rate. Shows as one inquiry.

I scheduled it with my primary, got it done then sent the physical form (https://www.samuelmerritt.edu/sites/default/files/2023-05/physical_exam__0.pdf) to the release of information email I got from my provider.
Thank you, I'm just making sure I'm not missing anything do downloaded all the forms that are required. Thank you for answering my questions.

No problem. I actually didn't schedule it with my primary my bad. I just went on my kp app and scheduled a routine check at the first available date and did it that way.

https://www.aacnnursing.org/students/scholarships-financial-aid look on this website a nurse recommended this to me and I am passing it on as well as HRSA website . Some hospitals if you are an employee offer help with continuing education healthcare jobs .

Hey! Same thing happened to me. Oakland was my first choice but I got into San Mateo. I reached out to our Counselor and asked if there was a waitlist for admitted students. He originally said no, but I'm unsure seeing in these comments some students have been waitlisted. Maybe reach out and double check?

Wanted to know how are some of you are gonna do your loans, just do the lump with one loan carrier or split it thru the school and outside the school. This sticker price has me with cold feet. I've exhausted all aid so 98k$ is insane 🤯
I been applying to scholarships and grants left and right. But I plan on doing 2 loans ( 1 Summer , 1 fall/ Spring). I'm also planning on working as well 🥲
How I see it, the money is we will be making. The debt will diminish over time, once we get a nursing job. most nurse friends/ NP's are still in debt. In addition, SMU grads are very well sought after in the Bay Area. So for me, beside driving to San Mateo, the pros out way the cons.

Hello guys! I just rejected by the ELMSN-CM program, and I plan to apply for ABSN program.
I need to take both pathology and pharmacology classes.
The only healthcare experience is volunteer.
is that enough? can someone who got accepted share some your background to me?
thank you so much!
